I believe you can control four different characters; and its been confirmed that they can die and the story will keep going!

I think I'm going to buy this game for the hell of it... epic potential.

So I've played the demo a few times now and my roommate has played it and I've noticed something very subtle. If you are doing the sleazy place demo after you leave lauren's and the guy busts in, if you go in immediately and then fight the guy her face is clear of any marks. But if you wait a bit she'll have a black eye.

You have to love attention to detail in a game. I liked the demo, I'm excited about playing this one. I also changed my approach with her the second time around and did not get good results. She basically threw me out without telling me anything at all about her son's murder.

did the same. i wonder if you gaining knowledge of clues, and your retention of them, will play a serious part in this game, and the outcome. i wonder how many different endings and even cutscenes there will be.

I've heard over 20 endings quoted by the developers.

I know your characters can die and it's cool the game will go on, but if they die I might have to reset it before they day. I don't want to miss out on anything.

Mind Blown. I'm sure there will be some characters that are meant to die, but from what I read there are situations where your character can die or not die. And if they die that just means you won't get their portion of story or clues.

Yea in the same article I read one of the developers said "There is no game over". If a character dies you keep going. I saw in a trailer there is a scene is where a truck is driving at one of your characters. And it looks like there's a quick time option to dodge the truck. I'm guessing that if you don't move the stick right you are toast.

I wonder how the ability of a main character to die will affect some people? Because people do get attached to certain characters. It'll be interesting how people do saves and such to assure certain people stay alive etc.

What I love is what most of you are talking about...the almost endless re-playability factor here.

yeah it's definitely straight from the book of Se7en. Awesome though... It's weird, at it's core, you do very little ACTUAL game playing. But you become so addicted and involved with the characters, you dont realize how much time passed. I put in a good 4 hours last night.... (and I started at 10:30PM).

There are a few complaints (none are deal breakers). First, some of the voices are just terrible. I dunno if it was just bad miscasts, or they used a team from an Anime film. But some of the side character voices are just gut wrenchingly bad. Unconvincing and fake sounding.

Also, they make you do EVERY SINGLE mundane item in each character's life. (This one kinda doubles as a Pro and a Con)... You have to do everything from going in the fridge to feed the kid to turning on individual light switches. No more just getting into a car... It's 1. Get into car 2. insert key 3. turn key 4. put car into drive. I'm exaggerating a tad, but they go that route with every action in the game. On the positive side of that coin.... Those little tasks really accomplishes the feel of putting you into the character. True role playing (if you will).

    LOVE IT

Strange I never really had a problem with them, L1 usually fixed any view i needed of a object. Though granted im use to the old resident evils which had horrible camera work.

The music is really good for creating the mood. So far I'm in love with this game and want to keep playing.

The bear trial was ridiculous. I was so nervous I was going to screw up and fail or get ethan killed. I can't wait to see how intense the other trials are.

@Bruzer: That's probably it. I hated Resident Evil because of the camera angles, lol. Well, not exactly... but that was a big reason why I never gave that series a shot.

@finsincebirth: Hell yes. There's a little Spike Lee jingle that occurs quite often.

This game was kind of quick. I beat it, too. Fastest game ever for me. I spent most of my rainy day after class playing it.

There are 22 possible sequences to end this game, yes, 22. Here's what I got:

    - Ethan, Madison, & Shaun are seen purchasing an apartment. Ethan & Shaun look as happy as he did at the beginning of the game before it all went bad.

    - Jayden's ending was weird in mine. I have no idea what happened. He's shown on a late night show as the man who solved it all, then he's shown in a public bathroom on a toilet where he contemplates what to do with the medicine, and he decides to flush it. I thought that would lead to a happy ending for him, but his final scene is where he's using his investigative goggles (or whatever you decide to call it) and two virtual army tanks pop up... he takes the glasses off and returns to the sight of his offense (seems like a new office) but the virtual tanks are still there, and pointing at him. He makes a "shocked" facial expression and it ends there. Guess the conclusion of this character was left for my own interpretation!

    - Shelby is shot and killed by Jayden at the sight of Shaun's rescue (saved by CPR from Jayden). He was just about to smash an injured Madison's head in with a broken object before Jayden showed up and shot him twice. Bang *****. Wait, one more. Bang. You dead.

    - Lauren died. I was unable to save her underwater. I actually tried to save her. The only true sad outcome of the story to me aside from of course, Ethan's other son who passed at the beginning, which was out of my control.

    - Detective Baker was it? No sign or word of him in the final sequence.

    - Shaun's mother / Ethan's ex did not make an appearance since the scene where she's seen in the police department giving a lead on Ethan as the potential killer.

    - The middle aged rich guy (forgot his name) died as well. I was given the choice, as Shelby, to help him or walk away and leave him for dead (heart attack). I left him for dead due to the way he described Shaun's kidnapping as "just another trash street kid that won't be missed"

Overall great experience, but it was like one of those GREAT movies that doesn't have much replay value despite its epic awesomeness since the entire game / movie is based on one thing that you find out regardless. Without the guessing and suspense, replaying this game wouldn't be nearly as good. I'd rather keep the epic memory. I hate Game Stop and try my best not to do business with those crooks, but they have a pretty sweet deal going on right now: Addition 50% on all trade in's until March 14, 2010. I think they give you $35 for Heavy Rain. That means $52 with this promotion. I normally don't trade in games as games are not all that expensive to me. But this is basically the opportunity to trade an already beaten game that I'll never play again for another brand new game. Battlefield 2! Battlefield 2! Battlefield 2! Wasn't planning on getting this with GOW3 coming in March and RDR in April. Thought Heavy Rain would carry me over longer. Guess not. Will consider!

Holy ****, the more I play this game the more I love it.
I did the butterfly and lizard trials and the butterfly trial was intense. I almost killed Ethan, and I was on the edge of my seat.
