That is the whole point. He DOES NOT PLAY WELL at his current weight.

    he is way too fat.

He is weighing around 370 to 380 right now.

He needs to play below 350.

His weight issues, are a concern to me and would be a concern to the regime.

All you have to do is remember what he looked like 3 years ago and then glance at the extra spare tire he is carrying around his waist.

I am not to hot on giving around 25 million guaranteed to a fat guy.

Well, based on the structure of Bell's contract (he's got a $14 million roster bonus due this offseason) and their respective ages, I think its probably safe to conclude that Wilson was brought on board last offseason to be the SS of the future.

I'm assuming you mean SS.
Lets also be honest Wilson looks like a chick when he makes a tackle and Bell just made the Probowl at SS. I know I know there were better SS's that decided not to play thus paving the road for Bell but it still means that he was at the very least high enough on the list to be considered. That's much more than we can say about Wilson. As for the contract lets be real here, there is nothing stopping them from re working Bell's contract.

Money Money Money, changes a LOT of attitudes.

Personally if we have to choose between signing Wilfork or Dansby, & can't afford both, my choice would be Dansby.

You have been on and on about no salary cap, and teams spending all kinds of money because of it.

Trust me when I tell you that the VAST majority of teams will be spending like it was a capped year. You will see it.

There will be many contracts cut but, little else.

may keep both of the SS's depending
    but if not
wilson will survive bell, for many reasons

wilfork is the issue. he would be a definitive answer (along w/ Soliai) @ NT

    our center/defense must be fixed,
w/ the exception of the StrongSafety,
we have two veteran starting quality players @ SS

NT ILB & FS are critical hole to be filled

I loved Wilfork with the Canes. But I think it would be better to draft a NT and let him sit behind Fergie For a year or two. It's just so hard to find a franchise NT in the draft.

This true, but it still doesn't mean that we will have to use a #1 pick on any of them

Wilfork would be the real deal but I agree with Section that he needs to lose weight. Now, if all that comes to pass then the contract details would be a limiting factor. If not, then I agree, draft one.
