In the spirit of the "top 5" threads I figured this would fit in well. 1.) Leonardo DiCaprio- Great actor can adapt to ANY role imo. 2.) Clint Eastwood- Legend! The Dan Marino of actor's 3.) Tom Hanks- Multi talented and anyone who can recover from the boussom buddies must be great! 4.) Al Pacinio- Has had a long succesfull career for a reason, a truely great actor. 5.) Denzel Washington- Passionate actor who is always a presence on screen. There are alot so im sure I missed a few.
I'd have to go with: 1. Jimmy Stewart 2. John Wayne 3. Robin Williams (for his versatility) 4. Morgan Freeman 5. David Morse (I wish he did more movies)
Nice..he is a very underated actor, normally plays the co-star but always "brings it" Sorta like Edward Norton rarely gets any lead roles but always performs well.
That's the same way I feel about Freeman, big fan of his work but just didn't quite make my top 5 list.
Jimmy Stewart John Wayne Sidney Poitier Errol Flynn Humprey Bogart Kirk Douglas Robert Mitchum Morgan Freeman Steve McQueen Jack Nicholson Clint Eastwood
Robert Deniro Beneficio Del Toro Val Kilmer Gabriel Byrne Robert Mitchum Kevin Spacey Clint Eastwood Russel Crowe Robert Shaw Sean Connery
De Niro Morgan Freeman Johnny Depp Ed Norton Denzel Russel Crowe Val Kilmer Nicholson Jessica Simpson
yeah Freeman was my "couldn't think of a 5th actor" guy... I'd replace him with Depp though... I can't believe I forgot him lol.
James Cagney Paul Muni Marlon Brando Edward G. Robinson Peter Sellers Hon. Mention - Charlie Chaplin, Sean Connery (my favourite, but not the best) Actresses Barbara Stanwyk Liv Ullmann Joan Fontaine Ingrid Bergman Katharine Hepburn edit: How the heck could I forget Jack Nicholson? Crap. I hate lists.
Leonardo DiCaprio Kevin Spacey Daniel Day Lewis Robert Downey Jr Crowe maybe, several could fill the 5th spot.
1. Bette Davis (no one can do the nasty ***** like Bette could, which brings me to my next one) 2. Olivia de Havilland 3. Meryl Streep 4. Cate Blanchett 5. Rachel Weisz and I'm redoing my actors 'cause I thought of some more... 1. George Sanders 2. Gene Hackman 2. Ralph Fiennes 4. Jack Lemon 4. Gregory Peck 5. Johnny Depp
bette davis would get honorable mention, but there is something about her eyebrow-forehead area that bugs me too much. yeah, i'm superficial, pompous and a little bit pretentious. as for cate blanchett, i'm going to go check her out in sydney next year in a performance of streetcar. liv ullman is directing (do we have on here yet?)
yeah Davis wasn't the prettiest thing but I think that works to her advantage... Blanchett lives around the corner from me... I was so excited when I found that out 'cause she's like my fav actor... but I'm too much of a coward to go anywhere near her place
I'm sorry guys I can't go with just 5 Gregory Peck Anthony Hopkins Denzel Washington Laurence Olivier Sidney Poitier Sean Connery Clint Eastwood Jack Nicholson Marlon Brando
Kevin Costner Clark Gable James Earl Jones Denzel Bogart Jimmy Stewart Morgan Freeman Lou Gossett Jr. Susan Hayward Bette Davis Katherine Hepburn Marilyn Monroe Cher Lauren Bacall
My favorite: 1.) Christian Bale 2.) Bruce Willis (I just enjoy most of his movies) 3.) Morgan Freeman 4.) Denzel Washington 5.) Johnny Depp Close ones but didnt make it for me. Al Pachino (love his work just didnt quiet make my personal top 5 although he is one of the best) Russel Crowe Mel Gibson Jack Nicholson Sir Ian McKellen Bill Murray (enjoy some of his movies caddyshack/ghostbusters)
1. Robert De Niro/Al Pacino 2. Marlon Brando 3. Clint Eastwood 4. Daniel Day Lewis 5. Anthony Hopkins Honorable Mention: Kevin Spacey and John Malkovich
1. Denzel Washington 2. Mel Gibson 3. Johnny Depp 4. Morgan Freeman 5. Robert De'Niro I don't know. There's just something about Leonardo DiCaprio that always made me dislike him. Perhaps it was that horrific Titanic movie. Blood Diamond, which is one of my favorite movies, along with The Departed kind of changed that. He's top 10 to me now. Growing.........
Morgan Freeman Jack Nicholson Leonardo DiCaprio Johnny Depp Bruce Willis Edward Norton Brad Pitt Christopher Walken Russel Crowe Sean Connery Harrison Ford. Edit-How can I forget Chevy Chase.
