Look this thread is over 124 pages long with over 2460 posts, I don't mean to be a jerk but we've all heard it before so if you want to contribute to the thread with your thoughts or opinions great, the more the merrier, but if you're here just to put wrestling or the posters down don't even bother wasting your time, or ours. We've all heard it many many times over in this thread as you're not the first nor will you be the last and what you're saying is nothing new to us. We happen to like and enjoy watching wrestling (well most of the time), I'm sure there are things you like that others don't so just respect everyone here and just leave it alone, really it's just a waste of everyone's time.

Well...I was close as Batista was final 3. Kinda shocked that they gave Edge the win. I would suspect he loses that in match at the next PPV.

I bet Triple H beats Sheamus at the Feb PPV to set up Edge vs. Triple H and Michaels will find a way to fight The Undertaker. I don't think they will take away Edge's shot because it would hurt his heat right now. Plus a healthy Edge is one of the top 5 guys both in terms of the wrestling stills and mike work. Of course you could have Jericho win the belt to set up a Edge/Jericho match for WM which would be good, but Jericho can't draw according to the WWE even if he's on almost every show the WWE has. Plus I doubt Triple H would let him headline.

I'm glad the WWE didn't do the obvious Triple H or HBK win but once Edge came out you knew he was winning. I'm interested in seeing what 'Psycho Shawn' can/will do.

Sorry to bring up Sheamus again but the WWE isn't helping this guy out at all. He's suppose to be a tough guy who beats the hell out of people yet they're turning him into Honky Tonk Man 2K10. He hasn't beaten ANYONE noteworthy since he moved to RAW (I don't count him beating Cena in a table's match). How is this guy suppose to get over or even try to? They're not even giving him a chance. And Randy Orton of all people was getting face pops during the match and Sheamus only won because of a DQ. The WWE is killing his guy's heat. If they really do a Triple H vs. Sheamus match at WM the fans are going to crap all over it. The belt should have been put on The Miz instead of Sheamus because he would have played HTM2K10 much better and it would have fit his character better too.

Also its time for them to do something with CM Punk now, the guy is great. It's amazing that the WWE has a bunch of talented guys but are completely wasted them because they apparently don't know how to work or don't dress well when traveling.

Antonio Inoki is the first member of the Hall of Fame this year. Good choice. He was huge back in the day and an icon in Japan. Another guy that, had I put a little more thought into, I probably should have been able to tab.

As for the Rumble, it sounded like a winner. Edge coming back is great, although it throws a major monkey wrench into the Wrestlemania plans, but it should be fun putting the pieces together on the way there. Their next PPV is only three weeks away, and I imagine a lot will shake out then.

As for Sheamus, I agree that the past two weeks have been booked poorly for him. I like the character and like that they put the strap on him, but they have neutered what made him great. Honestly, would it have been so hard for Cody Rhodes to interfere, accidently hit Orton, which led to Sheamus giving Orton a massive Razor's Edge and pinning him? The end result is the same (of Legacy costing him the match and title), but Sheamus is able to hang is hat on the fact that not only has he beaten Cena...but Orton as well.

He really should have gotten the countout win against Cena on Raw too, for that matter. Those two small things would make Sheamus look so much more credible without hurting his opponents stature in the eyes of the fans. And plus, Sheamus could spout off on the mic about how he is overlooked as the champ, but meanwhile...he is the champ.

If I am booking Raw tonight, I probably come in with a soft opening with Sheamus in the ring with a mic, complaining about how everyone is talking about Edge winning the Rumble...yet HE is the champ and can't be beat, etc., etc. Either that, or whoever opens Raw (be it s match or a promo), I have Sheamus come out, interrupt and kick the tar out of anyone in the ring before he does his promo.

And Punk sounds like he killed it last night. Would have been nice to see him last longer, but I heard the heel heat was amazing. I think the WWE is using him perfectly right now. He is gettign his own stable, has a HUGE spot on Smackdown each week, and from all accounts, looks to be one half of the tag team champions soon. I WOULD like to see him carry both the tag belts and a world title all at once, as him draped in gold while acting like a prophet is just too cool of an image to pass up imo, but we'll see what happens.

I think I will post a mock Wrestlemania card soon, based on what happened at the Rumble. I am looking forward to it for sure. May even make the trip to Arizona...

He came into the Rumble at like #4 or 5ish and he cleared the ring and got on the mike and kept cutting promos until the next wrestler would come into the ring and he'd eliminate them and cut another promo. It was great.

I didn't see the Rumble personally but I heard that not only was the Rumble match itself very good but the Taker/Mysterio match was damn good too.

Completely agree with you on how Sheamus should have pinned Orton. It wouldn't have hurt Orton and only could have helped Sheamus. Sheamus now looks like a bum since he hasn't beaten anyone. They're treating him like a comedy wrestler. They basically killed his character. I actually think they need to take the belt off of him between now and the Feb PPV because he won't be able to help draw people into any title match he'd be in for WM.

  16. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I think Sheamus can still be salvaged. I think the guy is a believeable character and is a pretty good worker to boot. But they need to start letting him cut loose on the mic and start pinning a few folks. Going into the Elimination Chamber, if you have him pin a few of the main eventers that will be involved and walk out the winner, he will look like a big time player. Basically, they need to start treating him like the champ, which I thought they were going to do when they gave him the strap. Had they done just a few small things and dedicated more time to developing him further, he would be a tremendous asset right now.

As it is, he is just floating in the wind as an afterthought to HBK-UT, Cena, Edge winning the Rumble, Hart-McMahon and, you can make an argument...the U.S. title held by Miz.

Right now, he has the guy who used to play Festus and a female developmental talent named Serena. I have a feeling he will have a couple more before it is fleshed out. He is playing this quasi-Jesus character on Smackdown where he is "saving" people by shaving their heads (purifying them, so to speak). He really is doing a fantastic job with his straight edge deal.

Yeah he got tons of heel heat for it. They should have had him at least last until almost the very end.

Ummm not sure about the stable I don't follow Smackdown much. I know he 'saved' a few indy guys but not sure if they're considered in with him.

apparently WWE HOF'er and former NWA world champion Jack Brisco died recently from complications from heart surgery.

his brother Jerry is, or was a WWE backstage official and was, along with Pat Patterson, one of McMahons stooges several years back during Stone Cold and the Rock's hey days.

Jack and Jerry were multiple time NWA tag champions as well. they had a great run as heel chamnpions against Ricky Stemboat and the late Jay Youngblood back in the early to mid 80's when i was a kid. i recall an awesome tag team Indian Strap match between those teams that may have even been at the first Starrcade.

oh, and Jack was also an NCAA All American amatuer as well, for Oklahoma if i am not mistaken. he was touted as being an NCAA champion when he wrestled, but not sure if that was true.

is the big bald dude Punk has "saved" Festus in a new gimmick?

  20. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Yes. He was also the Fake Kane from a few years back as well. I think he is going by "Luke Gallows" now. One of the thoughts I had (along with others) was that CM Punk's "disciples" would all have names from the bible. Luke, being the first. He also has a female named Serena that is joining the main roster alongside them. So there goes my theory.

But yes, I believe the plan is to have Punk save a few people and add them to his "Straight Edge Society."

The ultimate plan, as of now, is a hair vs. mask match against Mysterio at Wrestlemania. While I don't like the stipulation attached, I think it would be cool to see those two square off, as Punk can bump like a madman for Rey's offense and hopefully...Rey ends up on the short side of the stick to help get Punk even more over.

As much as I love Punk, the WWE would be idiots of they took the mask off of Mysterio though and hopefully they learned from what WCW did. It killed Rey's mystery and aura, let's face it he needs that mask to help get him over. Plus the WWE makes tons of money selling those Mysterio masks, it would be a terrible decision.

Again Swagger has a good match with a top guy, yet for some reason people still don't think he can work. Might be time to start kissing from backstage butt.

The ending to the Orton/Michaels match was great. How come no one has thought of that before. I like the way they're going with Michaels' character now too.

Yeah well he was the most obvious choice to make the save. I'm kind of surprised he didn't come out to the rescue since its looking like the WWE is going to run a Cena vs. Batista match up. I wonder if it will end up being Bret in Cena's corner and McMahon in Batista's instead of a street fight between Bret and Vince.

  27. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Bret can't go in the ring. I don't even think his insurance payout will allow him to participate in anything like a streetfight. Besides, I think he is too proud to allow himself to be showcased in anything but his best light.

Cena versus Batista is a perfect representation for these two since Cena butted himself in last week, and Batista this week. Plus, those two are two huge names that haven't had major fueds with one another previously (I know they have faced off but it is still fresh in my opinion).

I could go for a Cena vs. Batista streetfight. Cena is good at those brawls and Batista can be covered up with something like that.

I also like seeing Kofi, Sheamus, and Ted Dibiase in the main event at the next PPV. Yes, Orton, HHH, and Cena are there two, but allowing Ted or Kofi to get a surprise pin over Orton will help them tremendously in my book.

Swagger looked pretty good against HHH. We all knew he was losing so that doesn't matter. But seeing HHH feed him so much offense actually makes me feel confident that Jack may actually be back in the good graces. Sometimes a loss can do wonders for a wrestler (Stone Cold's most famous match was him losing, for example).

Shatner is good because he is such a flipping goofball. I expect next week's host to be awful.

edit: HBK is still the best performer in the business. He is just so damned versatile. I am still not sure if he is facing Undertaker or HHH at Wrestlemania, but either way, it should be good.

McMahon announced that ECW is ending in 3 weeks and being replaced by a show WWE NXT. No idea if it's just another brand or another TV show ala Superstars. Either way it's probably a good idea to end ECW, especially since it was a dead brand and had nothing to do with the original ECW. Hopefully they move some of the better talent (cough Christian cough) to RAW or Smackdown.

  32. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

Yeah this has been rumored since about November. I think the plan is to feature younger stars for the most part. So basically, very similar to what ECW was already doing. A televised minor leagues, if you will.

I don't know what that means for Christian, Shelton Benjamin, Regal, Golddust and a few others. I am sure it won't be as dramatic as we think it might be in terms of shifting talent around. Christian has been punished since he joined WWE again by being saddled in ECW. It is pretty much time for him to move to one of the main rosters, but I wonder if Vince will allow himself to swallow pride and realize that Christian is one of the most over guys in his company and could be making millions in a bigger spot.

  34. Samphin

Because McMahon is an egotistical prick. Christian left to go to TNA a few years ago, and Vince is still punishing him for that. He is doing so by keeping Christian on ECW and purposely keeping him from having larger programs with the main roster cogs.

Although I will say, it appears the he MAY be moving onto Smackdown soon...

I actually prefer him on Raw myself, but it probably makes more sense for him to be on Smackdown since that show is heel heavy right now (Batista, McIntire, Edge who is a tweener, Jericho,) and only had a couple of top tier faces (Undertaker who is on his last legs and Rey).

Okay, so I saw the results of Smackdown. Apparently, Morrison and R-Truth are getting a push since they are both going to be in the Elimination Chamber for the WHC, along with Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, and (of course) The Undertaker.

  38. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I think that is more due to a function of not having any strong top faces on smackdown outside of Undertaker and Rey. Morrison, while good, has sort of plateued recently (Miz may have overtaken him as a better performer, oddly enough).

If Christian were on Smackdown, you would have a viable third top face to work with as opposed to midcarder like Morrison and R-Truth being put into this spot. Having said that, I like the inclusion of Morrison (he has to make the next leap so his inclusion is perfect). R-Truth doesn't do it for me, but he is a good worker so I would expect some quality spots if nothing else.

From what I heard, R-Truth is getting a push because of how the crowd reacts to him. And R-Truth can work a crowd.

Edit: And I believe that if they want to maintain them as a top faces, they should each get a pinfall in the Chamber, IMO.

well, this is a good place to have Taker lose since it will be easy to have him lose by a double team or something like that. Because we all know there is zero chance in hell of him losing clean.
