Interesting. - Gotta just love this kid. June Jones spoke heavily of his attitude and incredible wor ethic when coming off the island. He wasn't kidding. He already spends hundreds of extra hours on the juggs machine each year, what's next?
Top receivers don't fumble the ball often. Davone fumbled 6 times in 2009. 2 as a receiver, 1 as a rusher, and 3 as a punt returner. Gotta work on that.
He had a bad stretch of games when Henne first became quarterback... guessing he had to adjust to Henne's throw after working with Pennington for a year, similar to Ginn's problem at the same time.
OMG, that signature!!!!! I wonder if putting Bernard Pollard as my signature would help make Tom go away faster?
Oh wow, Davone Bess is my buddy "FREESTYLE'S" favorite player, Freestyle hasn't been here in awhile, he is going through a very tough time right now. I hope he will be ok, he is a very good person. I hope he can bounce back like Bess and get back here soon. Here's to FreeStyle and Bess both bouncing back.
Pennington throws a very very easy ball to catch. Not only is it soft but he tends to put it right where it should to be. Henne's ball is not only harder and faster (less time to adjust to it) but it is often not as on the money as Pennington's. I expected our WRs would need a little time to get used to the difference.
It was exactly what you and GIK34 said. I was saying this during the season when he, remarkably, dropped a few balls. It was obvious he needed to get used to Henne's velocity, timing and placement, etc.(Mostly velocity IMO) Once he got used to it, he was a totally getting back to his old self. For the record: I love the guy. I just DO NOT want to see him return another punt again!!...Ever!!!! Enough!!! It's always the same re-run. 10-15 yards and down. We must try something else. I'm sure they will.
Well thats 2 WR's who had bad years who have admitted it and Im sure KNOW they need to improve.... Lets hope they both realize their potential.
gotta love the attitude. we must remember this was only his second season, there is still a lot of room for growth. I think his # of receptions, yards and 3rd down efficiency was great for us but i do think he needs to find the endzone a bit more.
Can we clone Davonne Bess's work ethic and apply it to the entire team? For real, I'd take an entire team worth of him if they could all put that kind of effort into their craft. Well, and if they could throw, kick, block, tackle, sack, etc.
Well he didn't score enough touchdowns, catches or returns, and he fumbled too much. So I can understand his disappointment. But he still was pretty money on 3rd down. But why settle? I like that he aims high.
