    Eternal Father Strong to Save...

A moment of silence today as we mark the hundredth anniversary of the Battle of Jutland. It was the largest naval battle of WW1, and in terms of combat ships in one place was not superseded even in WW2. (Leyte Gulf was four or more separate battles and had scores of amphibious ships and merchant men.)

It may be the most studied naval action of all time and is still controversial. A tip of the hat to all those who still rest beneath the waves.

Even though england suffered higher loss of ships and high cAsualties they prevented the german fleet from causing havoc in the atlantic

Exactly. The Germans may have won the ship and body count but the seas still belonged to the Royal Navy and in the end that's what mattered.

Too bad it did not ultimately make sure that the ship classified as "Battle Cruiser" disappear from Naval Lists and construction.
