Part of the problem with that as I see it , is that we get a couple 4 yd pays , a stuff for one and negative yards. If we don't get the big plays that we previously did , what is a more effective overall offense on average? We still lack some players , which was predictable, we are not good enough to win with multiple mistakes or if we meet a very good team playing well that day . We are getting there though...
It's WHEN we use the Wildcat that's the problem. When Henne is making some nice throws and you have Marshall, Bess and Hartline making catches, why stop and call a reverse that losses you yards, and kill the momentum you had in you passing game? What I like is how Martz has been using the Wildcat with the Bears....he doesn't always take Cutler out but he moves him around, and sometimes moves Cutler back to the QB position after having him on the sidelines, which confuses the Defense. When Ronnie is back there the defense knows he is faking a handoff to Ricky and then running it, usually to the left. I liked that Ronnie threw a pass out of the Wildcat but it was off the mark. I would prefer we only use the Wildcat maybe five times a game.
it wasnt off the mark. cromartie never bit and had perfect coverage on marshall the entire route. it was a good play throwing it away
actually i have been watching this game tonight again and the wildcat wasnt as bad as i thought. the first reverse to marshall should never have been run. the jets overloaded the left side and ronnie should have kept the ball and run up the middle or towards the right. it was a blown read by ronnie
