My brother brought up this (horrific) scenario... and asked me what would happen, and i honesty had no clue... What would happen if both the Giants and Jets make it to the conference championship games with home field advantage? Usually the conference champ. games are both on Sunday, but they cant play the games one after the other obviously, but would they even want to play the games Saturday then Sunday? the field would be very beat up for the Sunday game and it would be unfair to whichever team had to use it that day... what would the NFL do?
I have no idea. What would happen if the Texans and the Cowboys played in the superbowl and the field was either of their stadiums? This could happen in 2011. What if Miami goes to the SB in 2010 (it's at miami that year).
What if the Bills had to play games in Toronto because their suckage is killing their local fan base?
nothing, then they play in their home stadium, im talking about two teams who use the same stadium needing to play on the same day/weekend no whats horrific is the thought of the Jets actually BEING in the AFC championship game, with home field no less...
It would depend on the wether but isn't Giants stadium field turf? Dolphins stadium is natural grass and its been fine for a Sat/Sun back to back so I would imagine that the turf, if it is turf could handle a 1pm/4pm game on the same day but that is a very interesting scenario. A 1pm/8pm set up would work with the crowds though Lets just hope that the Jetsons falter and just flat out miss them playoffs. Yeah thats the ticket.
now i know you dream about me aqua, but twas arsenal that posted this thread. and i think they'd make the jets play in the parking lot
get a room. i think it would be unfair to give one conference one less day to practice. theres no way they could do them the same day. can you imagine the traffic situation? most stadiums turn the roads into one way streets for exiting the stadium. Now imagine trying to do that with 70,000 people also on their way to the next game. There would probably need to be at least 6 hours between the end of the first game, and the start of the second. Also, the stadium concessions would need to be over double capacity of a regular season game. I think they would consider moving one game to Monday. Or potentially start the first game at noon, and the second at 9:30. Oh, and god forbid there's overtime.
