I thought Bush was horrible as their singer. He was great in Armored Saint. Met him back in 86. Joey Belladonna was and always will be Anthrax's singer in my opinion
Have to disagree LtDan. By far, hands down the best Anthrax album is Sound Of White Noise, and that indeed does feature John Bush in his debut as singer. Agree with Bush. He gave 'Thrax legitimacy with their music, and steered them away from the cartoonish direction they were in.
Funny thing is White Sound was my first Anthrax. I wore groves in that disk, listened to it day and night, pretty much 24-7...so of course I ventured out and scored some older Thrax.... Sorry to say I was VERY disappointed. While it was still pretty good music, it absolutely pailed in comparison IMO. I still have those older albums (State of Euphoria is one, the other escapes me right now) and listen to them once in a while, but still working on completely wearing out White Sound
I truly thought I was the only one who preferred John Bush as their singer. Sound of White Noise is still my favorite Anthrax album, it is just perfect in every way.
Totally not... Saw Anthrax in concert twice once at a 100+ thousand person concert with Belladonna on vox and the second time in a club in El Paso with John Bush. Wasn't even close.
I kinda liked their lighter attitude. In a time when metal was either defined by glammy crap, death metal and speed metal Anthrax gave us a mild humorous break, but still rocked out.
Nice. I once had a beer with Chuck Billy from Testament at Summers on the Beach in Lauderdale. They were doing a show with Forbidden and some other band I forgot. Sadly no pics.
ya he sucks but to be honest as a huge fan Im just glad to see them active again...hopefully some new studio stuff will follow and they can make anyone sound good in a studio .
