Cam Cameron lead the dolphins in 2007 to a whopping 1-15 record with no bright spots in the future. The Atlanta falcons are about to sign Bill Parcells as their gm when Miami sneaks in at the last minute to sign him. At best many of our expectations were for Miami to win 6 games behind our QB McCown. Then a media frenzy of rumors Brett Farve wanted to come out of retirement and wanted to be traded. The Jets took the bait and traded for an over aged player and cut their franchise player. I am sure I am like many fans who cringed when Miami signed Pennington, as the words here we go again fell from my lips. After two games into the season and being 0-2 many of us were demanding that Pennington be benched and Henne become the starter, then Miami went to New England and introduced the wild cat. Something happened in that game, a spark was light and the clouds parted above Miami, hope was renewed. Mid season the words Dolphins and playoffs were mentioned, and still many fans said its too soon its only a rebuilding season. But Chad Pennington and company had different plans and they executed in a way a playoff team should. Not in a million years would any of us believe Miami could win the AFC east on the last game of the regular season, after all this is the same team, but yet not the same team who needed Over time to get one win last season. The Epic showdown in the Meadowlands, on one side a QB who was cut because he did not give NY the chance to make the playoffs, and on the other side an over aged QB who was the second coming of the messiah. Going into half time I knew Miami was going to win this game because every time they showed Brett Farve on the sidelines it was written on his face, I would swear he was getting ready to cry. Miami controlled the clock and made the bigger plays on offense and defense, and Brett Farve God bless his soul threw three interceptions including one that gave us 7 points. This was a storybook 2008 for the dolphins, with 2009 offering more chapters to come. Even Hollywood could not write a script like this, I congrats the no name offense and defense of the 2008 AFC east champions.
    Consider these numbers.
3 teams made it to the playoffs who were in rebuilding years, Miami, Baltimore, Atlanta. All three teams had rookie head coaches.
2007 saw the first 16-0 regular season team, 2008 saw the first 0-16 regular season team. The dolphins are the first team in NFL history that won ten or more games in a season after only winning one game the season before. the same dolphins tied the colts for the most wins from one season to the next with plus 10 wins.
