Man, the playoffs just aren't the same without the Heat tearing things up.

When Orlando catches fire, no one in the NBA can stop them. They need to catch fire more often.

I'm sorry, but the "everyone wearing the same colored t-shirt" thing is absolutely lame. (This is Reason #14 why I hate the Miami Heat: they started this ****.) The Magic, of course, took it to a new level of lameness last night by having half the crowd wear blue and the other half wear white.

My wife was watching a game with me, and some crowd was doing the same color t-shirt thing, and she asked what was up with that. I told her about it, she thought it was stupid, and I said, "you don't see real fans doing this stuff. You won't see fans in New York or Boston or Detroit or L.A. going in for this crap." Frankly, I'm shocked and appalled that the Lakers would resort to that nonsense.

They played a phenomenal game last night. Very aggressive to the hoop, sharp shooting, and Dwight Howard played like a man possessed.

    What??
i actually like it to me it shows fan support/unity.
To my knowledge the Laker Organization doesnt do this very often. actually Not sure i ever seen it before.

So when you go to games you dont wear any of the teams gear/jersey??
See i think its lame when you dont. Support your team. Your Prada/Gucci(LA fans) shirt can wait 3 hours till after the game. Thats the problem we have the real Fans sit in the nose bleeds while the Fans who can afford the court sides worry about their fashion and how they look.

yeh...I tend to side with you on this one. I dont see what the big deal is here. Its no different then a bunch of people wearing jerseys, team colors etc.

No, team jerseys, hats, shirts and other paraphenilia are fine and should be encouraged. Having everyone wear the same t-shirt that's handed out at the gate, or left on the seat, or whatever, is weak. It's got nothing to do with unity; it's trying to play to the TV cameras. If anything, it's a cover for the bandwagon fans, who suddenly get to look like they've been following the team all year, when in fact they just heard that there was a basketball team in town, and had nothing better to do with the $500 in their pocket than buy two lower level seats. These fans cheer when the jumbotron tells them to, wear the free shirt that's on their seat, and generally act like trained seals. It's crap, and it's a discredit to the people that have been following the team from birth.

Supporting your team means making noise for 48 minutes, cheering for the good guys and being obnoxious when the bad guys are at the free throw line. None of that has ANYTHING to do with a free t-shirt. Real fans have their own shirt or hat or whatever. If I was a Lakers fan and just blew $200 on an authentic Kobe #24 jersey (after finally getting over being pissed that he switched numbers) that I'm wearing to the game for the first time, then you bet your *** that lame free t-shirt, that cost about 50 cents to make thanks to child labor in Bangladesh or wherever, is going to sit right where I found it.

ok but from the teams veiw point its still looks alot better for the opposing team to look up and see a unified fan base. But I see your point.

thats cool but i dont agree with the Tshirt being lame. Especially last night when they were for Kobe and his MVP award. I do agree with the cheering part though. :hi5:

    oh well

I imagine they'll ask him, but it probably should be #8, because that's the one he would have worn for the most of his career, and the best years of his career. It's hard to imagine Bryant playing another decade; he's an ancient 29 at this point, given that he's been playing since age 18, and has an extra season and a half worth of games from the playoffs under his belt.

Fair enough, agree to disagree. At least your taste in women is great.

I disagree. When Orlando catches fire, they're very clearly a top-tier team, but far from unstoppable.

Not exactly what I meant. I was just referring to their streaks from 3-point range. During those 10-15 minute spurts, the opposing team can really do nothing but hope it ends soon. They can live by it, and will surely die by it. But it's fun to watch.

A bit off topic. I got an image in my head that I can't get rid of. Yesterday I imagined a team with both Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant. That combination would be better than what they've got in Boston right now. I could only pray that Kobe loses in the finals and wants out of LA. Orlando will gladly take Kobe off their hands. Consider it payback for stealing Shaq from us. But think about it, Kobe + D12 = Unstoppable, especially with the surrounding cast that Orlando would offer. --- I also wouldn't object to Tmac returning.---

i may be wrong but i doubt kobe wants out of LA no matter the outcome of the playoffs...also orlando doesn't have the pieces to get him in a trade..or the money(i haven't checked but lewis screwed them on that)

i know it was all in your head...just pointing it out....i could see t-mac...dont know why you want the ultimate choker?

The only draw back with Howard are his free throws and outside shooting, a good defensive player can shut down Howard for the most part. Howard is going to be a monster in a year or 2 to develope his game. Lets just hope the Magic aren't stupid enough to let him go like they did with shaq.

 Keep dreaming. Kobe knows this is a team built to contend for the future and that's why he's a Laker for life. He knows he's got the pieces now and he loses all credibility if he wants to leave. That's what I love about the Gasol trade in comparison to the Kidd/Shaq ones. The latter two were essentially one or two year rentals because of age. Gasol's signed until 2010/11 and he's got plenty left to be a good player till then. You might as well pray for peace in Iraq because that'll be more attainable.

yeah, that is about the silliest opinion I've ever read. I guess we aren't fans also because we were given noise makers, and we use those as well.

No, your management is lame because they did the stupid promotion in the first place.

And if that's the silliest opinion you've ever read...you probably don't read enough.

I refuse to watch this game any longer. The Marlins are killing the Brewers (and so I must watch that) and I'm tired of LeBron James.

I'll gladly check out Hornets/Spurs when that comes on, though.

Most of his shots have been jumpers, and contended ones at that. Its time for the guys that were brought in to help him to start kicking it up a notch. I dont care who you are, Lebron cannot beat KG, Pierce, and Allen by himself.

I might be committing sacrilege here, but his performance reminds me of MJ vs. the Pistons from the late 80s, before Jordan developed the fadeaway as his shot of choice ... LeBron is looking to get into the paint, but there's just too much D from the Celtics to do anything. He's going to have to make the outside shot a priority this offseason.
