If I'm Doc Rivers, I'm chewing my team out for sucking tonight. Yeah, fine, they won, but only because LeBron had one of the worst games possibly in his career. Game 2 is going to be a pretty stressful affair for both sides.
Yeah, Boston's depth saw them through tonight. But we already knew Boston is a deeper team than Cleveland. What happens if/when LeBron lights up? Going to be a very interesting series.
can't believe how bad lebron was tonight....doc rivers is such a horrible coach...at the end of the game with 1 second left on the clock they inbound it to KG and none of the celtics knew there was one second left on the clock..that was horrible
Yeh but one could argue that if Allen and Pierce heat up this wouldn't even be an issue. Allen was scoreless, and Pierce was a non factor.
What are you talking about? They all knew it ,the idea was for him to chuck it up but because he had to jump fpr the ball he didnt get a chance to.
Well if Boston has another night like this then yeah Lebron scoring 20+ would be enough. I just think Ray Allen and Pierce wont have a bad night like that. I was just stiring the pot I actually don't care for that series at all.
I know, but it was because they thought it wasn't a second yet. Which, blows my mind......but I am almost 100% sure they knew.
I think Garnett was claiming his arms were held down. But yeah Doc Rivers is a horrible coach. Anyone can win games with a roster like that.
Absolutely, because that disputed Billups 3 pointer was actually counted as a *SEVEN* point shot. I can't believe no one noticed that. Or maybe 19 turnovers and 6/24 shooting in the fourth quarter had something to do with it.
Agreed. And Mike Brown should be chewing out his team just as badly. Boston's the better team, so Cleveland HAS to take advantage of nights like this, where the Celtics bring their B game. They let a winnable game slip away, and it might well cost them the series; this was their best chance to steal a game in Boston, with the Celtics not being nearly as rested and coming off a surprisingly grueling 7 game series. VERY lucky break for the Celtics.
Rivers is a terrible coach. Nobody does a worse job of managing a rotation. So, Danny Ainge, to his credit, gave Rivers a rotation that even he couldn't screw up. It says something about the quality (or lack thereof) of NBA coaching when Rivers, Flip Saunders and Mike Brown represent 3/4 of the remaining coaches in the Eastern playoffs. Stan Van Gundy's a fine coach, but I never thought there would be a situation where he's not just the best coach remaining in the Eastern playoffs, but the best by a wide margin. Yet here we are.
I'm not going to blame the entire loss on that shot but I don't think its fair to simply gloss it over. The refs screwed up terribly letting that shot stand. The game was close and we all know momentum is a big thing is professional sports. I agree that it wasn't the only reason the game was lost but I think it played its part.
Skip Bayless is calling LeBron "LeBrick" after last night. I couldn't believe the way they gave the Celtics that game. The Cavs lost it more than the Celtics won it.
Way to show some class. It cheers me that I can now completely disregard your opinion, rather than give it passing attention.
magic fans are so hateful here...its not chaunceys fault that the nba rules are set up how they are..they got the call wrong by .1 second...it didn't decide the game anyway...
