Anyone taken a decent look at how the pass rush performed in Week 1?

It's just one game, and the first in the season, and the Titans last year were a top-rated team in pass protection*, so it's too early to worry. Still, I'm interested to see how people felt the DL performed in their first game.

Were they mostly beaten by solid pass protection?
Did they perform well in getting pressures and hits even without sacks?
    Were they just horrible?
    Did they blitz at all?

    Anyone have any insight?

    2017 pass-blocking efficiency: 81.7
Best individual PBE: Mike Pouncey, 98.5

The Dolphins offensive line saw the second-biggest improvement in 2017, after they raised their cumulative PBE from 74.6 in 2016 (25th among 32 teams) to 81.7 in 2017. Anchored by veteran center Mike Pouncey, who allowed just 12 total pressures over 608 pass-block snaps, the line averaged 46.1 pass-block snaps per sack allowed, the fourth-best mark among teams. While the team released Pouncey in March, the Dolphins did sign guard Josh Sitton, who has proved consistent throughout his career being the only guard in PFF history to grade above 85.0 for nine consecutive seasons. Sitton’s pass-blocking prowess could be exactly what’s needed to keep the Dolphins near the top of this list.

Hey Finatik, good info, thanks. This is a thread about the Dolphins' pass rush, though, not their pass protection.

And it's from 2017...so not much help.

I wasn't thrilled with our pass rushing since we were facing 2nd string tackles on both sides of the ball. We "technically" got two sacks which were offensive line holding when we had free shots at the QB, plus Tenn didn't have much of a pocket for a good part of the game. So while we ended on zero sacks, it seemed to be a pretty good bit of pressure anyway...it's really a glass half full/half empty type of scenario. We were very good against the run up front though and our linebackers were decent on pass/run coverage, so I think it's good news for the first game of the season.

Meanwhile, the Jets gave up one sack last week and had one five yard penalty on the offensive line, so their protection appears to be pretty good at these early stages. It is worth mentioning though that we beat a playoff team from 2017 in a 7 hour game in the rain, while NY beat one of the bottom teams in the league while knowing their offensive play calls. So we're definitely not comparing apples to apples here.

One more thing to keep in mind is that the Jets defense/special teams scored 14 points, plus they got another score on a long run. They took the ball away four times (one pick-6). So it's not like their offense dropped 40+ or anything. Darnold was 15 for 21 for 198 yards, 1 TD/1 INT. Good stat line...but I think we will be able to get after him and frazzle the crap out of the young rookie QB.

Titans were in max protect most of the game. That negated the pass rush. Not very worried about it unless a lack of pass rush becomes a trend. I don't think that is going to happen though.
