I think Bell's biggest problem are his hands of stone and his hips of steel.

He did had 3 INTs this year, which gives him a whopping 4 for his entire career.

Bell gives up catches to TEs, there is no disputing that, but he is usually a half-step off and makes the tackle soon afterward. He seems to be tight-hipped, and OCs probably know this and plan routes accordingly. He seems to get beaten out of the breaks.

I like Bell, but I'd be lying to anyone here to pretend to know scheme and if 'player A' was out of position. He may have looked out of position, but who really knows? We certainly aren't in their playbooks....

One topic of debate that I think is worth having is just how instrumental is the S for Miami in their new scheme. If we won't rely on the safety for run support and instead will feature heavy pass coverage safeties, Bell would likely be on the outs. I disagree that Bell gives up plenty of catches to TEs though. Much of that has to do with the pathetic short zone coverage of Akin Ayodele and at times Crowder.

While you might be correct, I only see Bell in the vicinity after the TE catches the ball. Probably better worded with "can" give up catches to TEs.

Again, I do not know scheme, so your take seems more likely. It just seems to me that, one-on-one, Bell loses the battle if the TE makes a cut in his route. Is there a LB who is suppose to undercut the route? Maybe? Again, do not know what is going on. Might have been an over/under, but something in the backfield dictated what the LB did, therefore leaving Bell to handle the TE alone?

Whether or not the LB is suppose to cover the short zone is irrelevant. Very complicated, because Bell might see something, too. But I have seen more than a handful of plays where Bell is (or at least seems) one-on-one with a TE and the TE usually comes up with the catch. Bell will make the tackle, but a TE can catch on Bell when the route calls for a fake/cut, whatever the heck you wanna call it.
