I'm creating a spreadsheet of the average height and weight for the starting LTs (by the depth chart) in the league. I want to do every position on the team but before I continue on this project is there a site out there that has charts ready made?
I guess not Alright so I'll put them up when I'm done. So far it's just going to be height and weight. I might start tracking 2008 statistics after the season is done but until then I don't see a point.
A couple reasons. For fun. I just want to see the averages for a few reasons (top prospects in terms of height/weight, who might need a LT because of age, etc). I'm almost done.
Ah, ok. I tried to find it for you but had no luck. The best I could find was a Yahoo question when someone asked about the averages and someone provided a dead link.
Click to download. I haven't figured out the averages yet but here is some information. The ravens have the tallest and heaviest LT in Jared Gaither. He is listed at 6'9'' 350. The Seahawks have the oldest in Walter Jones at 34 years of age. Next up: LG. Then C. Then RG. Then RT. Then TE? I don't know.
Okay. I'm getting smarter I figure instead of going down the whole NFL list at one position I'll just complete team by team. So unfortunately I'm starting with the Bills since they're first. Here's how this is going to work. I'm done the LT position. Now is LG. I'm following the teams in order of this list: List of current NFL team rosters - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia and that is also the list I am using to compile the information from once I figure out who is where on the Depth Chart from NFL.com. I compared the information from a few guys and I think wikipedia users took them from the NFL website because height and weight are the same. To break it down: 1st guy off the depth chart on NFL.com. I then head to the team list on wikipedia.org above and click on the player. For example: Brad Butler - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I copy his information into a spreadsheet. Done. Next.
