From listening to Coach Tony's talks about Beck it is obvious that Beck is not the answer. Not only is he to skinny his mechanics and throwing motion are all screwed up. I posted a video on UTUBE called Believe in Beck. Here is the link. The song is from fountains of wayne called all kinds of time.

Can somebody helpo me understand what the heck this thread is about? Where are the comments from Sparano? Link? Were they good? Bad? Indifferent? Do we like Beck? Do we think Beck sucks? What the heck? Sorry but this thread makes absolutely no sense to me, maybe its just because I'm so old . . . must be some hidden meaning . . .glad to see I wasn't the first to give this thread one star . . . Oh, and welcome to thePhins.com Slippery, very glad you've joined us!
I believe that the threadstarter is referring to the comments from Sparano talking about Beck's throwing mechanics. He basically said that Beck was working with the QB coach to make his release point higher so he'll have less bat downs and what not. Also alluded to the fact that Beck gained 11 lbs of muscle. From what I gathered, it was more of an endorsement than a condemnation towards Beck. From what I gather the FO loves his tenacity and are doing everything they can to help Beck compete with McNown for the starting gig. It was hardly a Beck bashfest.
Sparano also had a lot of praise for Beck. If you're going to make snap judgments, you have to include all of the information. That you're making any kind of assumption prior to the draft is a bad move. This time of year is notorious for disinformation campaigns.
How is it that someone could have video of John Beck playing in a Dolphins uniform before we drafted him?
The pre-draft video people are referring to is clips of John Beck's college career and features the same song. Soap seems to have ripped off the idea, and just pasted in Dolphin footage. Near as I can tell from reading Soap's posts is that he bounces around from Brady Quinn to Matt Ryan to John Beck in a very ADDlike fashion.
Same song and idea, but new content. Good job bud. I really like John Beck. Theres just something about him that makes me believe he WILL succeed. Even if he never plays up to his ability here, I wish him the best elsewhere. Go get 'em Beck!
Anyone who tries to decipher the coach/GM/VP speak coming out of Davie this time of year should get a job in cryptography the CIA - which could be substantially easier. Further, I find it hard believe that Beck would be thrown onto the trash heap this year when the only way to describe the opportunities into which Beck was thrown last year can only begin with the words 'Mongolian' and 'cluster.' (Thank you, George Carlin!)
http://www.miamiherald.com/614/story/489210.html Miami is still intrigued by Virginia defensive end Chris Long, but no in-person talks between Chris Long's agent and Miami are believed to have taken place to date. However, the Dolphins are believed to be happy with quarterback John Beck, and they are not considering Ryan as an option with the first pick.
