http://www.draftdaddy.com/features/speed.htm#SpeedRank Interesting stuff, the plain fact is, NFL players rarely run 40's, as JT said "I haven't run a 40 in over 10yrs" however for the draft prospects simply have to turn in good 40 times and brush up on techniques, these camps offer the chance to shave .10 of a second or several off of a 40 time.
This is the API I believe. Basically where all agents pay for their clients to go and work out in preparation for the Combine. There are certain techniques they use, I've read about them but don't recall any at the moment. I know that some trainers suggest that the player skips the Combine to run at the Pro Day because they get a six or seven inch head start at the Pro Day, therefore shaving time off.
Actually, the rank 15 of these different camps by effectiveness, Agents send their players to them to try and boost draft day stock. And, they offer sort of minicamps for things like man to man technique for Db's, which makes this interesting for draft fans. Marco Coleman had to got to one of them to shave 2/10ths off of his 40 as it had to be under 5.0 seconds for a DE, he was told to keep his non support arm straight back to gain that extra bit of momentum on his take off by swinging it forwards.
