I'm relatively new here, although I have posted "a bit" in the past. I am trying to understand what "Rep Power" is, and hoping someone can help me. I noticed that when I disagreed with Cali, that my number went down. Then, I disagreed again, and the number went down further. I don't get it or, how it matters. Can anyone help me to understand?
rep is given by an individual to another to show whether or not the person appreciates your post. any individual can give rep on any post. to me it's merely a status thing.. like if a person has a lot of good rep it means that they're well respected on the site. i don't think i've seen a person have a lot of negative reps because by that point they'd be banned. sometimes people would shout "neg rep" and do it for fun, but those times were outlawed
Also if posts are not well thought out without facts, or if a poster is attacking another poster they can get neg rep.
Why would anybody disagree with FFIC? - If what you are saying did happen, I garauntee that FFIC had nothing to do with it. Hopefully you're kidding....right? - He honestly doesn't roll like that, and to be quite honest, brining somebodies rep up or down isn't that important to him. - Now then, rep is built through: Post Count Thanks from other members +rep from other members.
This is very strange to me. Why is it done? You can have a blithering fool, or a Jet fan, decide who is good or bad? This is comical, and for kids.
Anybody would disagree because he was wrong. It did, and I could care less. I just thought it funny after all the years of posting without the BS. In no way, is this a problem with Cali. I believe that some will back him up, regardless of how wrong he is. LOL
I guess I don't quite understand? You say it is comical and for kids, yet it obviously was important enough to you to create a thread, and indeed drag another member into it.
I didn't agree with your posting style. If anyone else didn't like they could do the same thing with your posts.
I think it represents a lot Matt, respect being first and foremost, about how much you know about the game, and how you communicate it.. Just wait til you hit the cool 100 rep club, we have like a party and sh$# for you, and you get to talk to the rep master, Gish.. For real though, its about respect here at this site, i think their trying to build somethin special here....I dig it.
