As mentioned, Universaldraft is updating and bringing out new rankings, information and player breakdowns. As such, I have edited the WR rankings as follows:

    http://www.universaldraft.com/?page_id=165

Bear in mind this is my rankings and not those of CK or Boomer.

One that probably stands out most to me is Jeremy Williams above Dezmon Briscoe. I've seen both of those guys and whilst I think Briscoe is more talented, his work rate isn't very good.

So, you agree, or disagree?

Williams is a bit underwhelming at times, and coincidentally, so is Briscoe IMO.

To be honest, the reason Danario Alexander is not above Briscoe, is that Alexander hasn't done it year in year out. If he had, he'd be ranked higher, mind you he was an after thought to start the season. Those guys always worry me though.

nice work con. agree with quite alot. i think you got the right round for mcgaha. i think you could include boston college's rich gunnell. he's a 7th rd or fa type but will definitely be in a camp next offseason. SMUs Emanuel Sanders is rated too low IMO. He probably needs to be 10 ranks higher. Definitely over terrell hudgins. Sanders will be drafted IMO. I'm still not sold on Lafell.

Overall awesome job though. Glad to see yourre updating your site again

Tell me how you really feel.

Obviously this will change as we get more in depth with each player and the draft approaches etc. I ain't gonna lie and say I've seen 3 SMU games or something, but you get the idea.

Haha, I'm honestly not sure if I agree or disagree with that or the list in general. I think it's pretty damn solid. Nothing too far fetched and it's still legit.

Agreed on Williams and Briscoe. I've got one game I've seen of Alexander and then I've got the bowl game here on tape that I have to watch. I can't comment when I've only seen bits of him, maybe after tonight though.

I really like LaFell a lot, and think he would be good on this team. I'm not sure I think he is the #2 WR in the draft though.

I know you're pain. I put Tate behind him in part due to the size issue. I want to see what Tate really comes in at. If he is at 5'11'' and runs a decent split time etc. I think you might see me put him there.

Gilyard can also have drops and the system he's in could inflate his stats a bit (maybe)...and Benn, well he's had 7TD's for his career. It's hard at this stage.

 he's nothing special but he is draftable. ive seen him in a few games late late rounds but he should be drafted IMO. Ive also seen highlights of hudgins and i wrote him off as a failure after those highlights  i:lol:if your highlights cause me to drop you, youve got issues . so i'm just using those two as a gauge

honestly, i'm very impressed. at least 20% of those guys i havent seen anything on. i'm going by what ive read on 20% of those guys. cant wait for the all star games so i can see some of the small school guys

I like those rankings. Like some, I havn't been able to watch tape on many of them. Soon though. But I can speak for Chris McGaha. I've gotten to watch basically every one of his games. Maybe it is just me, but every time I see him play, he reminds me of Ed McCaffrey.

Ive been raving about him all year. He's kind of like Hartline for us so I dont see us drafting him but someone will get a nice WR in the 5th or 6th round

I don't know about you but the one thing I think when I watch Danario Alexander is 'fear'. What I mean by that is that he plays scared with regards his knee. You watch him play and he has tremendous length, an ability to block, great speed when he gets going and semi decent hands, but mentally I don't think he's ready. Part of me thinks he could turn out to be the best WR in the class and part of me thinks he could go undrafted because he's got no confidence in a knee that's been operated on 3 times.

McGaha has the best hands of any WR in the draft. Absolutely as sure handed as they come. Mel Kiper mentioned it on a podcast but it's true - he creates surprisingly good seperation as well. I think he'll end up as a solid 3 for someone.

For the record, Mel's top 10 senior wideouts are:
    Gilyard
    LaFell
    Shipley
    Alexander
    McCluster
    Decker
    Roosevelt
    Ford
    McGaha
    Blair White

That's hilarious because there's a receiver already on our roster that makes me think of the same word every time I watch him play! :shifty:

    Nice job Con...

Although i think Arrelious Benn has bust written all over him, while has ideal size and speed in the handful of games I watched the Illini play he couldnt catch the ball for sh-t, and looked like he didnt even want to be out there.

I think Eric Decker from Minnesota would be a nice sleeper pick ofcourse it would be nice if he wouldve played some full seasons without injury.

Yeah, I got that sense too, but wasn't sure I was projecting too much. Not saying you are, but you know that feeling you get when you've watched a few guys in a row and you're in a groove where you feel confident about what you're seeing.

It comes and goes though, he has moments like he wants to just let it go when he runs, and others, like you said. If he can go a few seasons without having an injury, that will likely help immensely. The question is will he?

whats your feelings on drafting jacoby ford later in the draft? ftr.....i played with him in peewees at 5 years old in west palm beach, and know his brother davey very well (he played at fsu had a bad case of injurys throughout his career)

hes smaller, but like zod alluded to in his post about gil brandt......we want a speed receiver....and i guarentee jacoby runs one of the faster 40's at the combine

Alen said he reminds him of a bigger, stronger, more physical Roddy White (which I think is a pretty good comparison).

Steve Smith is a bully at the line though. You have a tough time jamming him and his leaping ability is ridiculous.

Absolutely. He doesn't drop many passes. And this year, he battled injuries, and still played well. Tough kid. All that with a caroussel at the quarterback position. And those quarterbacks never helped him out, they were as innacurate as they come.

Are you sure that's not from when he was coming out of High School?

I've seen where he's listed as 6' and I've seen here where he's listed as 5'10''......I don't which one he should be? It's like a few others on the list, I doubt they're measured exactly (Golden Tate comes to mind) but I have to put something down for them.

Maybe I'll have to put him at 5'11''

I hate this sometimes about college football.

Yeah exactly right my friend. Typically that Navy game summed him up; he rips off the long TD at the start, looks great with that big old stride and terrific YAC ability and then for the rest of the game I felt sorry for him because it looked as though he was really trying to protect himself and going out of the game and back in because he was clearly feeling it, had me concerned for the guy.

I've made the change to 5'10''. Or maybe I should have it like Fletch; 6' but 5'9'' without the afro?

Thanks for pointing out the error Jim1.
