The Good: -Dolphins won and that's the most important. Moved ahead of the Jags and are now the "7 seed." Defense looked amazing, they made up for the poor second half offense. -Broncos lost, which moves them back with the pack. Steelers lost as well. -Camarillo. I've been saying we need to pass to him more, and we did and he had over 100 yards, making some huge catches. The Bad: -Offense did everything to try and lose the game after the first 2 TDs. Fumbles, interceptions, penalties, the dumb end around[again-please stop the "cute" plays henning], a bobbled snap. They cant do that and expect the Defense to hold by only getting 14 points every week. Another game we dominated the stats and somehow couldn't pull away. I think we can overcome it though. -Jets, Ravens, Patriots won. Patriots didn't look great though, they almost lost to the Panthers at home who have no QB. A win is a win though. Next Week: Man has there ever been a bigger week? So many teams to cheer for. Tough game for the Phins in Tennessee, who will be fighting for their playoff lives. VY is down right now as I type this, looks like he hurt his hamstring. Kerry Collins may be coming in. Collins is 0-6 this year. VY is 6-1. collins is obviously better for us. -HUGE BILLS fans. It's in Buffalo and the crowd should be fired up. Wouldn't they love to ruin the Patriots season? It's very possible. If we win and the Bills win, we move into 1st place and the #4 seed. -BIG Raiders fans as well. If the Broncos lose to the Raiders and we win we would move past them into the playoffs. -BIG Bears fans as well. Same thing goes. Bears win, we move past the Ravens if we beat the Titans. -We want the Jags, Jets and Texans to lose too, but the ones above are more important. Wow what a week it will be. go here - http://www.playoffstatus.com/nfl/afcstandings.html
Maybe at home, but yeah it being an away game is gonna makes me even more afraid of that fact for some reason.
Chris Johnson is not a RB. He's a machine! And trust me, even with Ferguson, it would be a tough challenge for Miami.
Tennesse is one of the toughest stadiums to play in as a road team. Kerry Collins being in would help us a lot. We'd just have to limit CJ as much as possible and hope our O puts up more than 14 points.
We didn't shut down DeAngelo Williams by any means, and I'd argue Johnson is better than Williams. This is one week where Roth's ability to set the edge would really help. I fear they'll be running at Porter a lot. Just watching them against the Rams and they're running behind Michael Roos around the left side a lot; Porter better bring his A game next week.
Jacksonville can't do anything but help us now. They either lose to the Pat or another team and we move ahead, or they beat the Pats and we move into 1st in the division. It really just comes down to the fact that we have to win out. If we can do that I know the Pats are going to lose another game along the way. I want to win the division again, not just a wild car spot (granted I wouldn't complain about it).
Yep. Especially if VY is out, we're going to get heavy doses of CJ. It's going to be very tough to win in TN.
the JAGS, JESTS and HOU are not relevent ... the only way the JAGS help us is to beat NE. I would be shocked if the JAGS beat INDY next week ... which puts them out of the picture. The JESTS hold no tiebreakers, and HOU already has 7 losses. for us, it is purely NE and BAL ... we need either to lose 1 (preferrebly NE). of course, this assumes we can win out, as at 9-7 it would get pretty crazy .... as it won't be head to head .. it will come down to AFC records and common opponents - which i don't think we will fare very well with.
Seriously, DeAngelo Williams GASHED us and that was with a healthy Ferguson. The Carolina coaching staff shut him down for us. Its going to be another dogfight in Nashville next weekend. What else is new?
Our ILBs are really slow, and like to hit the wrong holes, and take bad angles. One bad angle can definitely mean Chris Johnson is gone. Plus we really didn't shut down Deangelo Williams at all. Would be nice to have an outside linebacker who could force Johnson back inside where is at least a bit less dangerous. Open field for Johnson means pain for the Dolphins.
Hahaha! Can't believe you're still pining for Matt Roth. Our run D has been EXCELLENT all season without that lying bum! Posted via Mobile Device
Deangleo gashed us, but we still won. Keep the Titans off the field as much as possible and get some big pass plays.
The Dolphins win and everything else falls into place. Take care of house business first and let the rest play out.
Yea doesnt matter though, the Dolphins have the best chance to make it. If we win out and the Jags win out then we win the division title anyway. Jags and Ravens can't win their divisions, Dolphins still can. If we win out we dont have to worry about that. Now if the Jags/Phins/Ravens all finish 9-7 that's another story. That's a confusing, stupid mess. If the Dolphins, Ravens and Jaguars all win out? The Dolphins win the AFC East.[the Jags play the Pats, so we have to cheer for the Jags in 2 weeks] That's just one scenario, but shows that if we win out, we have an amazing chance at making the playoffs. Even if the Pats do win out if the Ravens or Broncos slip up that also helps. So, just keep winning. I want the AFC East though. But I would take a wild card obviously. Think how good it would feel if we won the division again-proving every single "expert" and doubter wrong for the second straight year. It would feel even better this year than last years felt.
titans scare me more than pittsburgh and houston. they are playing good ball right now. just our luck we couldnt play them early this season
The Dolphins weren't exactly playing well early off. I would rather see them have to play the best of what each team has to offer. Then we'll know what the team really is and there are no excuses or yea buts.
Hopefully they start kerry collins. Then you've got the Titans from the first 5 weeks of the season haha. Even if they start VY though, he has knee that was hurting and now a hamstring. If we hit him we slow him down.
Our run D is what, 14th, allowing 107 ypg at a 4.1 ypc average and 14 rushing TD's...that's not excellent. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team?stat=rushing&position=defense If there's one thing Roth could do, it's set the edge - something that Joey Porter is not good at at all, and Jason Taylor, well, he's serviceable but both of them clearly could be upgraded upon. Given the amount of stretch plays the Titans run with Johnson, yeah, I wouldn't mind having Roth back for just next week.
Baltimore can still win the AFC North if they win out and Cincinnati loses out - not likely, but it's still something to consider.
About the 3 way tie thing. It should go like this: Dolphins knock the Jaguars out and then you go to tiebreakers with Dolphins-Ravens. What's so hard about that? Who cares if the Ravens havent played both teams.
Dolphins don't have a better chance than the Jags. Jags control their destiny. They win out, they make it in no matter what. They lose one, they still have a very good chance of making it in. The Dolphins win out they might make it might not. They lose one, and their basically auto out.
That would be massively ******ed in general. What is so difficult about this? It's a classic and simple rock paper scissors. Dolphins have Jaguars in head to head Ravens have Dolphins in conference and SoV Jaguars have Ravens in conference But the X-Factor here is head-to-head is irrelevant. It's like bringing a knife to a gun fight.
Because if the Ravens were to play both teams they could beat us and lose to Jacksonville. That would lead to a tie. Dolphins > Jaguars > Ravens > Dolphins Obviously that inequality doesn't work, so the teams are tied. Since this is a possible outcome, they can't use head to head as a tie breaker.
Trust me you want Vince Young and I think it'll be Vince Young. Take that deep ball element out of their game plan or make it less accurate and you give our two answers to Chris Johnson (fast hard hitting run control safeties) a great chance at slowing him down. One of the things that hurt Jacksonville was that they just didn't go deep often. Young is inaccurate down the field and his arm can't quite suffice. They don't have great TEs, great WRs, meaning they can't get big plays through the long passing game the way other teams have (or at least shouldn't be able to). It'll be a tough challenge to be sure. They did seem to do well against MoJo which should give them a slight preview of next week's game. MoJo isn't as fast, but Young can't sling it to Holt like Garrard did.
Well, two things here. The Jags schedule is murder so while they control their own destiny they'd have to beat the Colts and the Pats in the last two weeks. And if they lose a game they're pretty much out of the running. If they win out, and we are all assuming Miami has to win out to make the playoffs, then we win the division because they beat the Pats. So I say the Fins have the best chance of J'ville/Bmore/Miami
If the Jaguars win out and Dolphins win out, the Dolphins win the division anyway. The Jaguars play the Patriots. We're proud of our team regardless if they make the playoffs or not, because the Dolphins are building a constant playoff and eventual super bowl contender, which we should be in 2010. So the trolling is not going to bring us down.
