been watching the Miami/GT game and Tivo'd it... but i did switch over during a commercial, and it looks like they have ALOT of eye candy this season.

which is a marked improvement over the last several.

Well, I won't spoil it for you then and tell you who got voted off. But, I will tell you that right about the eye candy this season. :wink2:

Pretty good first show. Definitely got some characters. One in particular. Should make for an entertaining season. We'll see.

I agree. That "character" is an a-hole. And not in a funny or entertaining way either.

I'm with ya Doc. On both counts. That doctor dude (Mick?) seems pretty cool too.

Thing is, they take 24/7 worth of video and edit into one hour shows. So, they can make anyone look really good or really bad. Have to think they're making Russell out to look really bad. Besides, as hard and fast as he's playing the game, it's just a matter of time before he cuts his own throat. I doubt he'll go very far in the game. But, we'll see.

Based on the previews, it looks like things get pretty intense next week.

Good episode last night. And, call me crazy, but I think Russell is startin' to grow on me.
Gotta give it up to him for having the initiative to look for (and find) the immunity idol without a single clue.
Is he a little psychotic, at least in terms of how he's playing the game? Well, yeah...I think so. But, he's playing the game hard, and it's kinda fun watching him work everyone. Still say it's just a matter of time before he gets his though.

And, how about that Ben dude? Man, you wanna talk about an asshat? He's got my vote to go home next. I don't like his attitude at all.

I'm a little surprised this thread died out so quickly. The Big Brother thread was fairly popular IIRC. Reckon not too many Survivor fans in the house? Too bad, 'cause this season is really shaping up to be one of the best...ever.

Russell, they guy everyone hated early on, has really grown on me. But, even if you hate him, you gotta give it up for him. He's played a heck of a game so far. Dude found two immunity idols without a single clue, and now posses his third one unbeknownst to anyone (I think). And, he seems to be the one calling the shots for the most part. He could go all the way.

At any rate, just thought I'd give this thread a little bump in the event anyone else is watching. It was really cool talking BB11 when it was on, so I was kinda hoping the same might hold true for Survivor.

He has found 3 of them without a clue. One on his camp and 2 after the merge. He has totally flipped this game and imo he is quite possibly the best player ever at this game.

Russell is a ****in sav. Such a slimy guy but boy he plays that game as good as it gets.

I miss the old Dolphins Survivor forum.

I should host one of those again these days. I have nothing else left to prove when it comes to that. ;)

Another good show last night. Russell continues to play the entire tribe. But, will his arrogance eventually catch up with him? Previews seem to suggest as much. And, man that Natalie is strong. She hung in there for the longest time. Longer than Mick and Brent. Tough little thing.

And, the look on John's face when the votes were read at tribal was priceless. Dude had no idea. He was totally blindsided. It will be interesting to see how Shamou responds to being kept in the dark on the vote.

It was filmed months ago that`s how I know

The next Survivor is an All-Stars survivor and that has also been filmed. To save $$$$ they filmed them back to back. They also split the tribes into good and bad hence the title

It will be fun to see Coach and Russell on the same team next year. If you want more info I can list all 20 All-Stars in a spoiler tag if you like

Well, today is the day that I lost faith in humanity for the second time in my life... LMAO... the other day was when OJ Simpson was found not guilty. How anyone on that jury can not vote for Russell is beyond disgusting. He friggin found immunity idols with NO CLUES! He controlled the game... Outwit, outlast, outplayed... everyone. Frickin DIVAS including that fairy MIKE voting for Natalee... Now, was Russell too arrogant at the end and did he rub Natalee and Mick the wrong way? Probably... but that was part of his game, throwing off the competition.

It's simple sour grapes. He was the driving force behind each and every one of the jury members getting voted out, so they wouldn't vote for him.

I honestly believe that the reason so many of them voted for Natalie is because she was the one that didn't hurt their feelings as much.

I hear ya Paul. But, yeah...I believe Russell's undoing was the way he handled both Mick and Natalie, as well as the jury in the end. He was basically calling himself the winner, and you just can't do that. You have to show respect, and to some extent, contrition even. He did neither.

Honestly, I was a little surprised to see no love for Mick. And, from some of the things that were said, they must've edited it out (whatever it was that he said or did to receive those comments), because he came off looking like a choir boy otherwise.

    Exactly.

Not sure which season they were all in

Richard (season 1 winner) was suppose to be in it but he was arrested a week before leaving.

The all-star season was taped from August to September so there are a lot of spoilers out there on who the final 3 are and even a couple of boot lists

I expected Russell to win especially after the weak arguing performances in front of the jury by Mick and Natalie. But the fact is that this game has several parts and one of those parts is developing relationships with people on the jury. As good as Russell was in the other parts of the game, he did a poor job of that.

IMO the two main reasons Natalie won were 1) Eric's speech and, 2) the relationships she formed when the camps merged. She was the one that talked all those other girls into voting Eric out. She found a way to connect to them and they listened to her. I don't think Russell could have done that. She formed some relationships with the jury and Russell didn't.

When Eric pointed out that whatever strategy Natalie used was just as effective as Russell's b/c they both got there, that basically put them equal up to that part of the game. The next part, involving having relationships with the jury members, was where she outplayed him. The fans don't get it b/c they don't develop the same kind of relationships through the TV. In fact, fans probably have a stronger relationship with Russell b/c he was on much more. We saw Natalie as just this hanger on. But the members of the jury probably had more contact with Natalie than Russell.

i think one of Russell's few tactical mistakes helped cause him to lose. letting it be known he was a millionaire was dumb on his part.

because the jury can't detach themselves from the emotions that come along with being involved in the game, like those of us whoi watched the edited version on TV but did not live it, that cost him at least a couple votes probably.

According to what I've read, Russell was a real ******* to everyone on there way out. It doesn't surprise me that wasn't shown on TV because Russell was the only interesting person on the show and they needed to focus on him so much that they went ahead and gave him the underdog edit.

Specifically, Russell really gave it to Laura, mocking her as she was voted out. Laura of course was the ring leader of the alliance and swayed people against Russell.

I can believe that. He has that kind of personality.

Makes you wonder though...what watching the show would be like if they didn't edit it, or edit it the way they want to? I still say I wish they would move it to a cable channel so at least they wouldn't blur out the good parts. :wink2:

But seriously, I could see the show expanded to 2-3 nights a week, with online viewing options (as they do with Big Brother) so we could see how the game is really played. I've never subscribed to it for BB, but I'd definitely do it for Survivor.
