the best teams execute at full speed

Maybe it is more or less a question of coaching philosophy

I'd much rather see them practice at full speed for 1 hr then 1/2 speed for 3 hours. How you gonna work on blocking technique or route running for example if your running them 1/2 speed.

Its the quality of practice not the quanity:up:

would have rather read "We tried to interview coach sparano after practice, but it never ended. There still running right now."

    Losing to the bills. Bleh.

and to me what adds salt to the wound of losing to the Bills, is then the Pats losing. Win that game and we would be 4-1 in the division and playing for the AFC E lead against the Pats on Sunday.

God I hope we win as my sister is there and she is a stinking Pats fan.

i would assume they slow it down to practice fundamentals as well as ensure they are learning their assignments, etc. that does not mean it was a lower quality practice.

All I'm saying is there has to be a happy balance. The only way to judge progression of a player is at full speed. Anyone can look good at 1/2 or 3/4 speed. You really can't make the assessment until that occurs.

Of course you can judge weather a player knows the assignment or not. Certain parameters are not judge-able unless done at full speed.....maybe this is the reason for some of the questionable coaching decisions.

"Help me get my foot out of your ***."

I do like times of transition like these though. Lots of opportunities on our team for guys to step up and make a run at a job. Let's see some competition.

Is my memory fading? I've seen that movie about ten times, and I sure don't remember a scene like Darlington describes.

bad time outs have little to do with the speed at which they practice.
you are correct there is a difference between speeds, but if you can not do something full speed, using progression as a means to correct it, again is not a bad idea, nor does it lower the quality of the practice.

i don't remember them showing the coaches park their cars on the field for lighting, but if you remember the night practice scene, where they finally come together so to speak, there are what appears to be car headlights lighting the field.....

That was when they were at Gettysburg College for a few weeks, right? They all rode there in buses.

Maybe Darlington is getting his HS football movies mixed up? I've not yet seen Friday Night Lights. Could it have been a scene from that movie? Surprising, when I think about not having seen it, because I really like Thornton as an actor.

The other possibility is there are two versions of Titans. Maybe I've just seen the regular version and there could also be a Director's Cut, with deleted scenes put back in.
