You'd think, with all the beatings Ginn takes on these forums, the first page would be flooded with threads harping on our defense.

I tbink people are making Hartline's catch out to be harder than it was. He didn't have to fight for that ball.

Ginn has made difficult catches too...just this season he's struggling. Some of youbguys are so myopic, it's pathetic.

That picture is a perfect example. The defender isn't close to him. (It was a nice play on his part though.)

fought the football? wtf are you talking about? it was another good pass but slightly off target Henne throw that he adjusted to and made the catch. lets not make it out to be an orande gadson highlight catch. difficulty level 5

Henne put the ball in the best spot for Hartline to make the play
    He made the play
went up and got it kept his feet
    Ted Ginn can't do that

I'm curious, why would you compare someone you like (assuming you like Bess/Hartline) to someone you dislike? As for me, I would much rather be compared to the best or at the very least the best on this team. Ted Ginn is who and what he is and I'll bet my pocket change there are coaches out there who know just how to use him/his speed properly. Case in point Wes Welker/Chris Chambers. I could name many others but I won't bore anyone I'll only end with a saying from a HC we all love, on this board, "I fit my scheme to the players I have." He did pretty good for us for 25 years!

you are just making up stuff now regarding Ginn to continue slamming him. The guy has made plenty of catches with the same or higher difficulty rating. 3 years with Miami, 3 years with Ohio State. You cant be serious when you say he "can't" make that catch since that would mean he's never made that kind of catch

    I'm not making this up

Ginn had 9 catches in the last 6 games
Two on Sunday in a crucial game
He was shutout twice in that stretch
73 yards in those six games
    25 catches on the season
    1 TD
He had 11 in one game
Could have been 12 but he dropped the game winner
    That leaves us with what?
    14 catches in 10 games

    Anemic numbers for ginn
    He should be making plays
Those are the facts so far in 2009

Hartline over Ginn in a heartbeat :wink2:

Actually, IIRC Ted Ginn has honestly never made that catch. CK came out with a list of his statistics within the red zone while he was at Ohio State and they were abysmal while Troy Smith had overall incredible ratings within the red zone. Ginn has certainly never made a catch like that while with the Dolphins, so I'd say he hasn't done it.

Making a similar catch doesn't mean it has to be in the red zone...IMO, a similar catch would be a catch where Ginn is behind a defender and catches a ball that is thrown high and behind the defender.

No one is arguin that Ginn has had a good season this year. Howeer, to act like he has been playin like this for his NFL career is silly. Something is wrong this year with him, hopefully he can correct it.

Brian Hartline will develop well by the end of the season
usually takes 2 or 3 years for a WR to come into his own
that's why we've had so much patience w/ GinnJr

you said that ginn couldnt make that catch but there are many examples of Ginn making just as hard or harder catches. my comment wasnt about statistics but rather you saying he was incapable of making a catch like hartline made. that is 100% false. he's made those catches and more difficlut ones in the past so your statement is false and just another example of using hyperbole to trash Ginn

He had a similar catch for the touchdown in week 17 last year against the Jets. Also his touchdown catch against Seattle was one of the best I have ever seen.

The first catch against Buffalo in the first meeting last year @ Miami (40+ yarder I think)? He jumped up for that one at least

Not the same pass, 180 or not. Not the same catch either, for that matter.
