As he should be, there is absolutely no reason to say anything other than a bold face lie to every reporter stupid enough to think he's gonna be the one to get the big scoop straight from Parcells' mouth 3 weeks ahead of time. I can't believe these guys, I mean it's like asking a cop when's the best time to rob a bank.
Agreed Georgia... Not only is is fun for us fans to be bantering back and forth as to who Tunaland has on their minds (which I'm sure they could care less about), but I wonder how many personnel guys are going to be saying " Man, they took who ?? That's not what I suspected at all !!" Of course, none would ever admit being taken in by another anyways...but I would certainly love to have a camera on the war room thruout the draft...I'd pay to see that....
Thanks for the link, good read. Tuna is the master of smokescreens this time of year, which IMO makes it even more fun to prognosticate who we'll take. There is one prediction I think I can safely make: our HC won't be booed by our fellow fans after the #1 pick is announced like Cam was last year. I may not like a certain pick (like Matt Ryan, sorry Adam) but I will cheer them on no matter who it is and totally respect that if Ireland, Parcells and Sparano want that guy, then I'm happy with his selection because my trust in those three men is complete and total.
At least this year, we know if there's an unexpected pick there will be a smart man behind the decision. We don't have to be worrying about tards like Mueller fumbling away a franchise player that fell into his lap.
Agree with you that Ginn rocks. Happy to have him! I just think that Quinn will eventually prove to be a player we shoudn't have passed on.
How long before people forget the Ginn over Quinn debacle? Or is that a seminal event in Miami Dolphins history? Like, I know the Anquan Boldin and Drew Brees screw-ups are infamous, but there's still palpable anger over passing Brady Quinn. Seems shocking. I've gotten over it.
We won't unless Ginn ends up being the better of the two. All the little things that came out about Quinn since his draft makes me glad we took Ginn. He showed he will be a big time returner with a few of his returns being called back to due penalties. As for WR kinda hard to decide when your QB is almost always having issues with protection.
If Brady Quinn goes on to have a Hall of Fame career? Never. If he has a great career? Never. If he has a decent career? 10 years. If he never catches on in the NFL? 3 - 5 years. Edited to add - If Ginn turns into the next Randy Moss or Jerry Rice, then I'll say as soon as that happens.
They keep talking about the Phins letting the clock expire and not making a pick. I think the Tuna will use the fully alloted time, and then if nobody makes us an offer we go with one of the Longs.
Yep same here man. He was young as hell and a beast. Makes you wonder how much better our D would have been last year but o well. Cant dwell on the past, just hope no Matt Ryan and our future will look bright.
It's funny, I kind of wanted Quinn or Okoye. When the pick came up I said its Quinn, after the pick I was in shock. I'm completely over ever wanting Quinn, in fact I never think about him unless I see his silly commercials (which will be the only thing he will be doing for a while).
How long do you wait and try to trade down? Do you want the #1 pick signed before the draft or close to it or do u just wait till draft day to make the pick? If we have someone we really think is head and shoulders above the rest I wouldn't mind us signing him before the draft, at least there would be no chance of a hold out. Really hate hold outs.
Based on the mocks, I was pulling for Levi Brown until AZ swooped him up and then was hoping for Patrick Willis. I expected Quinn's name to be called, was in rapid succession shocked, relieved when it wasn't.. and then shocked again when I realized who we did select. That being said, I've become bullish on Ginn and look forward to years of him making the team better in at least 3-ways: receiving, kick returns and maybe even more importantly, stretching the field to provide our QB and other skill players with more play-making opportunities.
Not even that. Once Beck to Ginn becomes such a common phrase on Sunday, the debacle won't be forgotten, it'll be remembered as when the Fans got it wrong. Plus if Derek Anderson just keeps kicking butt what's a Quinn gonna do?
Probably until Ginn or Quinn or Beck (either one) prove something in the NFL...as of yet, Ginn has the edge but nothing spectacular...
I for one, am glad they are tight lipped. How anti-climatic would Saturday morning be if we knew our pick thursday or friday? how mad were Texan fans all weekend knowing their team wouldn't take bush lol. turned out to be a pretty shrewd move so far, but still ..
