    Wasn't because he was effective.

Beneficial to our wins. He alone was largely responsible for 1 win.

I think you need to go re-check your "Facts"
I never argued about long passes.....EVER
BTW: Even with all those incredible achievements, he barely beat out Cam's stats last year (Cam had an abbreviated season )
And he is currently 3rd or 4th in pretty much every receiving catogory you can think of,cept for drops and shut-out games, he of course is 1st in both of those categories

Actually, some of his most productive games have come in our wins -

1st Jets game - 52 yard TD in 4th quarter
    2nd Jets game - 2 TD returns
Buffalo game - had the 22 yard reverse

He accounted for 3 scores in our 4 wins, so I would say beneficial in those.

(I won't bring up the fact that when Ginn is productive we normally win. Or in his most productive game against Indy, we almost beat the best team in the league.)

You took my quote in response to another poster and twisted it to fit your argument? Not sure how that is fair.

Becuase the coaches really want Ginn to work out as a WR, and wanted that to be his main focus?

And yes, if we had a return man that was more effective than Ginn he would return kicks. Ginn is one of the best returners in the game though. Stats show this to be true. And it's not just his two big returns, 78% of his returns are 20+ yards, Cobbs was returning at a 68% rate. Also, Ginns average is 7 yards longer than Cobbs on more returns. Still want the bet?

Didn't you quote me and post about the long ball?
If not, and I screwed up, I appologize

Ha - too hard to keep track.

These threads get tough - hard to separate the "Ginn needs to be cut" side from the "Ginn needs to perform better" side. And I am sure the "Ginn is going to be Jerry Rice" and the "Ginn hasn't been as bad as it seems" crowd start to look the same after awhile as well.

So, candlelight vigil for the guy getting paid big bucks to put the ball on the ground?

I just want to say, that as a guy who played baseball in college...you'd be a ****** teammate. I'm serious Aqua. I bet you're an awesome guy, and I enjoy you in this forum, but as a teammate--you wouldn't be on my team.

Cut him? Why? The guy is the number three kick returner in the NFL. Number three out of 32. Slightly better than top ten percent. That makes him slightly better than the Drew Brees of kick returners. He has a 29.1 yard average and has taken two to the house. Why in Sam Hill would you cut the man? He gives your offense decent field position. He's a bona fide weapon without catching a single pass.

Sure he's expensive. Nothing can be done about that. It's like saying Cam Cameron was an idiot. OK; but what's your point? You're stuck with the cap hit anyway if you cut him. Forget the money; it's moot.

Sure he can't catch anything. Leave him at kick returner, where he will produce for us, and see if his catching improves. Every once in a while he's going to get thrown a ball that your Aunt Tilly could catch while he has two steps on the free safety on a go route, and poof! he's gone. Bye. Who's going to catch him? Many, many reps with his quarterback may get him more consistency, and remember -- these bombs are low percentage passes anyway.

Is he chicken? Probably. But that only limits him to routes where he's running away from everyone. Probably makes him faster, running from those big, ripped brutes who want to kill him -- never underestimate the power of the adrenaline that fear generates. It's a perfectly legal performance enhancing drug. Chicken gives him that unfair advantage we're all looking for.

Flight is what we want from him, not fight. He's not a Welker or a Clayton; he's a frail little speedster. Let him be himself. Maybe he becomes a Duper. In the meantime, he's worth having on the roster as our kick returner. We should all be rooting for the kid, not undermining whatever little confidence he has.
