Receivers are not only paid to catch footballs - they are paid to PLAY FOOTBALL. You are faulting Ginn for trying to run after catching it?

And I think we still lose that game even if Ginn doesn't drop the ball into Sharper's lap.

And we aren't in position to win in Indy if Ginn doesn't have 11 catches before that last play.

How could you know that as fact? There would've been time left at that point (40 secs), the Colts would've had 3 TOs to work with, and considering our defense was giving up 10 yards per play, I find it to be at least possible that Indy could've tied it up before the end of regulation.

That alone means we wouldn't have "for a FACT" won. We would've been very likely to win, but not guaranteed.

GinnJr. is not going to be the go-to-guy on any team
at this point in his career he is flatly approaching bust
his redemption can only come on Special Teams,
    but it must be now
let him return everything, use him as a deep threat
& 4th WR or give him the ball on an end around:yes:

Actually, if Porter had better hands it never would've got to Sharper. it only got to Sharper after Porter bobbled it too.

Wait, so because he had a chance to catch a desperation pass and didn't it's his fault we lost? The game didn't even end on that play. Why not blame Bess (or whoever was back there) for not outjumping 3-4 guys in the end zone on the last play of the game? I mean they had a chance to catch it.

I saw a play where Kurt Warner threw the ball 60 yards in the air and Larry Fitzgerald was standing on the 1 yards line completely alone and just standing there.

Larry dropped the ball, right in his hands. Which sucked because I would have won my fantasy game if he caught that pass.

Every other preceiver in the NFL does not make that play. That is wrong.

    What do you consider long?

If long is 25+ then Ginn has made more than just one.

Aside from that, Cam's long touchdown catch might not be what I consider a "long" catch, as the catch itself was probably under 25 yards.

I am sick of everyone who is against Ginn throwing out numbers like they are facts.

Over his 3 years career Ginn has 4 TD's from balls thrown, in the air, over 20 yards - 3 of those are from passes over 30 yards and 2 are 40+.

That doesn't count shorter passes he took for TDs, or his two reverses he has run for TDs.

Once again, I pose the very simple question:
What is unequivocally the very most important thing a WR needs to be able to do?

Cam has never caught a TD pass that traveled 30+ yards in the air as a Dolphin. He has 1 TD on a pass that traveled 20-30 yards in the air. In 2007.

In 2009 - no one other than Ginn has caught a pass that traveled 20+ yards in the air. Ginn has done is 10 times in his career.

    Play the snap.

Go to early and we never get a play off.

Go too late, and not only the timing of the play ruined, but as are the chances of getting open and making a catch.

Has Ginn been a disappointment? Yes

Has Ginn been worse this year than last year? Yes

Has Ginn developed a problem catching the ball ths year? Yes

Does Ginn deserve for fans to create facts about him to make him seem worse and take the blame for this disappointing season? No

    In your opinion.

You don't know him to know if he's "mentally weak." It is your opinion.

Not to mention age doesn't play into everyone's ability to perform.

Telling someone to "grow up" is a silly thing to say about someone who by all accounts is a very hard worker and good teammate.

Congratulations, you have just accounted for ALL the TD's Ginn has had as a WR minus 1
For those of you that want to compare him to Tim Brown, Brown had as many his rookie year as Ginn has in 2-1/2 seasons, and Brown didn't start a single game his rookie year.

None of this has to do with growing up.

And again, go try out for an NFL team if you don't mind sacrificing your body.

I would love to play in the NFL, but I know I could not do it.

    point taken.

i won't sit here and say ginn is the reason our record is 4-5, but i can't sit here and say he didn't have a huge hand in contributing to some of the losses. you can't deny he's made key drops in each of the most recent losses.

for me the simple analysis is:
    * does he drop balls? yes
    * does he run out of bounds to avoid contact? yes
    * does he alligator-arm passes over the middle? yes
    * does he have spotty field awareness? yes

those are things worthy of criticism. regarding the Indy game - yes i think both sides have points here. Our defense can't stop Indy, but if Ginn catches that ball.... it's a different game. The fact of the matter is Ginn has dropped too many crucial drive-killing balls for me to stomach, and in one case a potential game-winning ball. muffing the kickoff against tampa after dropping the first pass of the game was a final straw for me, honestly.

i'm not clamoring for us to cut him tomorrow, but i think most of this criticism is warranted.

Again with the false stats to prove your point?

There were over 5 plays in the Buffalo game alone last year.

He has 3 against the Jets this year.

    5 KR's over 40 yards.

10 catches of passes over 30 yards in the air.

    2 TD's on reverses.

That doesn't even count long catches he's made that weren't for scores.

I think some of the criticism is warrented and some of it is over the bounds.

I also think that alligator-arm passes over the middle is not warrented and the avoiding contact is something he should do.

That's fine. I have no problem saying there were instances where a better play from him would've given us a much better chance to win a particular game (or games).

I would say yes to all 4 questions you put as well, because at one point or another they have all happened.

I am fine with criticizing him when warranted or criticism in general, but I have a problem with fabrications that are used to criticize.

Not fair to make a point about long passes and then switch your arguing point when I present that data.

I was arguing solely passes thrown over 20 yards in comparison to our other WR's - not total touchdown numbers.

He bounces it outside so that he can try to score a TD. He isn't goint to run through a arm tackle, or even many finger tackles. He is going to beat 99% of the NFL to the corner, even if they have what seem to be good angles. Its what he does best.

I am certain AdamP, PhiN, etc are sour on him (as I am), but we recognize the net gain that he brings to the offense even if he doesn't manage to bring in the pass.
