I've got an AIM/AOL screen name that apparently has been hacked and been sending crap to my friends on the buddy list. I've tried to change the password but I can't because the hacker changed that so I don't know how to get in. Does anyone know how I can delete the screen name as a whole or at least deactivate it? Do I have to make a phone call because I'd prefer to do it online lol. I've been making phone calls all week for other things for my parents and frankly, I'm tired of the phone.

Is it an AOL or AIM screen name? If it's an AOL SN (and not the master SN) then you could delete it I believe by logging onto the master SN for your AOL accounts but I'm not sure where you go from there since I haven't used AOL since 2000. But I'd call AOL and explain to them the situation and get them to change the password for you.

This was the best info I could find on short notice...gotta catch a train to Syracuse/Cal, and then UNC basketball games in a few minutes: To get help with your existing account, connection, or other technical issues: 1-800-827-6364

If this doesnt work Ill see if I could dig up more stuff later. I would also suggest some kind of spyware/malware protection scan just to make sure no one got any kind of personal info like credit cards, SSN etc.
