The day the water stopped flowing! Waking up to that it must have seemed that the world had stopped with no noise at all.
ahhhhh......not far from my birthplace......Ron have you ever seen it for real....upclose............it is amazing
I have been thee once when I was littLe from what I remember it was pretty amazing Posted via Mobile Device
My hometown. The Falls still looks as amazing as it does in pictures. The rest of the city, not so much.
You may be surprised to know that 12500 years ago the falls were not even in your city . It was 7 miles away and if you go further back in time it wasnt even in your state.
... and, 12 thousand years or so in the future it will have eroded it's way through the escarpment and all the water levels above will drop a bunch
I think you might be wrong Marty, I have it from a good source that the Earth takes a nose dive in 2012, just before Christmas. My source? Why Hollywood, of course, they can't be wrong can they?
I was there just over 4 years ago. Incredible place that's for certain. It was sad to see how well the Canada side was doing financially compared to the American side.
That's what happens when a city is run by crooked politicians for the last 2-3 decades. It's finally starting to turn around now though.
We took a tour that started in the town of Niagara, and the tour guide was a lady that was born and raised. She was very very insightful as to what was, is and hopefully will be. It is indeed a quaint little town. We stayed at a KOA that is on a small island between Buffalo and Niagara. The people in that area were just incredibly nice. Kindve reminded me of the little town I grew up in.
KOA? I have no idea what that is. Are you talking about Grand Island? That place is def very different from Buffalo and NF.
Yeah, Grand Island. KOA is a campground chain. The one on Grand Island has cool little cabins to stay in. It was really very nice.
We actually only did the tour. The bus picked us up on GI, and as I mentioned our tour-guide was a lady (40ish) born and raised in NF. The tour, after going across the border came back and let us off for about 2 hours in NF. We saw the Amewrican side and took a quick tour of NF. Only thing that really stands out was a Helo-tour place that had a miniature Helicoptor on the roof. And she pointed out a nice building that had been started, but never finished and now abbandened
lol Story of NF. Start nice things and then get lazy. That'd answer the question of why the canadian side is so much nicer.
Yeah, this was like a civic center or something. As you did, she eluded to the crooked Govt taking the money that was raised for the building. Crying shame. I was very impressed with how beautiful the Country was up there.....with the exception of Buffalo of course. What a nasty dirty city that is.
