LoBook, because of the change of pace, the ability to catch the ball, and the reliability. Ricky is great, I am NOT down on Ricky. But Ricky is too similar to Ronnie, so for our 2nd back, I want LoBook. Now, if Ronnie goes down, then I want Ricky in there. Hope that makes sense to you guys, because it scarily does in my twisted mind.

Yea it makes sense you want Ronnie Brown to be the starter and you want Lorenzo Booker to be our 2nd back but if Ronnie Brown goes down you want Ricky Williams to step in I could not agree with you more. Also I dont know how much responsibility I would want to give to Ricky Williams because one more time he gets caught he is out of the NFL

Nothing against Lorenzo Booker, but I envision it being more of Ronnie and Ricky splitting carries with Lorenzo coming in on third downs and obvious passing situations.

Booker is a 3rd down guy, so out of the two it would be Williams hands down.

He has too small of a frame. He can't take all the beating.

I also agree that it should be Ricky. LoBook as the third down RB or slot receiver which I would like to see.

What about Barrry Sanders? The only reasons he retired is because the Lions would not let him out of his contract. What about Walter Payton? He was small.

Either one is fine. The nice thing is we have two solid backups to RB so even if he is not 100%, we should still have a solid running game. Hopefully we will have a lot fewer injuries in 2008.

I think there is some confusion as to what "2nd running back" is defined as. I see it as Ronnie, then LoBook in as the change of pace, or 3rd down back, and Ricky in to spell Ronnie when tiered or God forbid injured. That is what I was saying in the earlier post, but we all really seem to be on the same page really.

I like Booker and would like to see us start to bring him along now rather then later, or worse loose him in FA in a few years and see him blossom with another team.

You can make a case for Barry and Walter. Walter had a good O line though, we not so much lol. As for Barry, thats a good point.

Ricky Williams and there is no question about it. I love Book just as much as the next guy but he is a situational player. Ricky Williams is more or a Bruiser and I think he compliments Ronnie very nicely

I'll keep on hammering away until you guys realistically take a look at the running back position.

Ronnie suffered a major knee injury. He will be slow coming back.

Can anyone look themselves in the mirror and truly say that they trust Ricky? The guy could piss out at anytime. I question his durability too.

Lorenzo Booker is a guy you have to get the football to in space and utilize his speed. No way do you run him between the tackles. He is a change of pace back but a potential weapon.

We have to draft a middle round running back who can come in as an insurance policy this year. Next year Ronnie is healthy and then we have a future tandem and one hell of a third down back.

Our depth at the position to me is very deceiving.

    Ricky

Ricky is the power back of the two. LoBook is very good in the open field, but not a every down option, LoBook will be a 3rd down option for us.
Ricky could possibly handle the full load if Ronnie were to be out for a game. We have seen what Ricky can do, Lets just cross our fingers that too much time has not passed him by.

Barry Sanders was small- but he did not have a small frame. He was 5'8''-5'9'', 200-210 lbs. broad-shouldered, with massive hips and thighs. Payton was also 200+ lbs. and 5'10'' with almost the same kind of build. LoBook does not have that body type. His shoulders are narrower, his lower body is not as massive as theirs and his overall bone structure is simply smaller than theirs was.

A good comparison would be another FSU alum, Warrick Dunn. Both small-frame guys (5'8''-5'10'', 180-190 lbs) that have more moves than a cat on crack. And I think everyone can agree that Dunn has done OK for himself in this league.

Ricky knows how to be patient. He knows how to find holes and then explode through them. He can also break tackles and probably do a decent job in pass protection. I really liked the pass catching ability that Booker showed at the end of last year. But I don't think he can do those other things on the level Ricky can.

Why would any of you want a change of pace back when Ronnie and Ricky together, or alone, will wear out ANY defense. If ricky comes back to 75% of what he was you will see what I mean. This is the easiest poll I've ever taken.

Ricky is a much better back than LoBook. That being said, I'd rather see Ricky as our team's second back. But it's nice to have the luxury to be able to choose between the two.

I don't see Lorenzo getting many carries a la a standard back. more like some catches out of the backfield, some pitches etc.

If we actually secure the LG and LT on the O line Booker could really produce with his speed. However, if we're still kinda stopgap with the O line, then I guess let the pothead run since he's more of a contact runner. The bottom line is it boils down to the same thing it does every year, fixing the freakin O line!!!!!!!!!!!

Booker is NOT a #2 RB...he is a change of pace, 3rd down back. If Booker is spelling RB, we are too limited in play calling with him as the feature back on offense...

It is good to have a change of pace that is what helped the Steeler win the superbowl in 2005 the had Jeromme Bettis a power back and Willie Parker a speed back
