Kimbo was doing nothing but laying there getting punched. Stand them up? When Roy was free too, and was punching his head? Kimbo could do nothing beacuse of the position Roy had him in. Roy could still punch him and was. There was a lot of time left, eventualy those punchs will take their toll, and Kimbo could and was doing nothing to stop them. If Kimbo was working, then yeah I could see your point. I will have to rewatch the fight, but I remember him just laying there.

If he can make the cut then hell yes. He could probably power out and just stand up on most poeple.

When you do......NOTHING...after you mount or get your opponent in a crucifix........then you do not have a superior position. You are attempting to have sex with your opponent.

See, this might be an acceptable solution. UFC has already drastically changed the rules to accomodate more stand up action. This would be yet, another instance of such if they did this.

It also seems to penalize the ground workers though, who often need time to work into the proper position. It wouldn't really hurt the ground and pound guys too much I woudn't think.

This is exactly right. Kimbo lost, fair and square and quite frankly it wasn't even that close. Once it went to the ground, he didn't stand a chance. Kudos to Nelson for taking it to the ground and keeping it there.

Whoever said Kimbo should drop to the LHW division has certainly peaked my interest. I wonder if he could maintain at that weight, as he looks pretty solid and cut at his current weight. He may lose a tad bit of power, but then again, he would be throwing against smaller guys too...

Kimbo may not have been too hurt, but he certainly wasn't working. Country was clearly working, regardless of damage done. You stand them up when both aren't working. You stop the fight when one is and the other isn't. Especially with clean blows to the head over and over again.

The only way Kimbo was getting up from the mat is if the ref forced them too, and in this instance, there was no reason for Herb Dean to stand them up.

yeah, but a mount or crucifix is beyond interpretation. majority of the time, the fight gets stopped when either is achieved. you cant take that away from a fighter who earned the position. hey, sometimes you get ****ty fights. but this lone fight doesnt warrant a rule change that could jeopardize future fights or fighters safety. the rule, for the most part, works.

and kimbo, simply, shouldve gave nelson his back. he shouldve rolled over and defended the rear naked choke, with his huge head, and short thick neck...itd have been hard for roy's weak arms to lock in. he had several opportunities to do so. he'd have had a much better chance to get back up from there. someone probably once told him to never give up his back, but those days are long over. its much easier to gas out a guy who is going for a rear naked for a minute or two, than it is to defend full mount, which leads to crucifixes, easy subs, or an obliterated face.

he was hitting him, granted there was nothing on it, but he manipulated the rule. i'll be honest, he couldve suffocated him to death too. so he was lightly punching him and smothering him, and thats something. i wouldnt want to be in that position, unless it was with megan fox. but within the rules, he was absolutely, technically, "working".

yeah i dunno if he can. he has tiny legs and is shredded, and still weighs 230. i think he'd be better off trying to muscle up to 245, if he can do so, while improving his cardio. i cant see him losing 25 lbs, let alone dropping 25, and being a competitive fighter.

You take away Big Countries wieght and he sucks as a fighter, IMO. I've seen him fight before and the fights he loses are the ones where he cant use his size to dominate the other guy. Oh well.....lets see what happens next. Chances are he fights in the fight night from the show.

Rampage is terrible. What a waste for those guys.

And to think Wes Sims had three fights in the UFC.

The thing I have always loved the most about this show is it shows you the fighters "behind" the fighters. And just like Serra, Rampage has slowly turned into a douche on the show.

Kind of. I would imagine scrapping Juanito Ibarra prob had a big change in how well-coached his team is.

Rampage admittedly isn't into coaching, which would go along with how he said he only did TUF again as a favor to Dana and didn't really want to. It really does seem he wants to be done with fighting too.

Wes Sim was baaad. That's a weak choke for an experienced guy to be taken out with. I give the other guy credit for prob being very strong, but Sims still didn't look good at all.

This season has been pretty disappointing after having a ton of potential.

I keep watching to see Kimbo get another shot, Nelson get KTFO'd, and the entertainment of Rampage.

Like Slick said, Rampage never claimed to be a coach and you can obviously tell he doesn't enjoy it. It is very disappointing to to watch all the trash talk between him and Rashad knowing that as of know they are not gonna fight.

I started out hating Evans and liking Rampage, but as the show has progressed I find myself feeling the opposite.

Rampage clearly only going through the motions on the show, which is why his fighters keep getting owned inside the octagon. He's still a cut-up and hilarious on the show, which is the only reason I think he's coaching. The last several fights he's just walked away after his fighters have gotten KTFO. That's just not cool.

Though I will say part of me wonders how much of Jackson's douchery is really happening, and how much of it is clever editing in light of the recent issues between Dana and Rampage.

last night was by far the worst episode. i had given up on this show, but the heavyweights saved me. i was sick of watching immature lighweights running around, getting smashed, and acting like ****heads. i like watching the guys train, i like seeing some conversations about the competition. i like the fights.

thank you heavyweights for being so mature. it saved the show for me...ffrom all the damage guys like Junie caused.

Odin, good point on the editing, i am feeling the same way about it you are; started off more a Rampage fan and as the show progressed that is swinging more toward Rashad. which is ironic, because he was called out by Matt Hughes for being a showboat and for his antics during fights when he was a contestant on TUF.

seems like Rashad is a pretty cool guy from what i have seen on the show.

and with all the jawing going on, and the way this all looks on tv, Ramapge will come out looking as though he is ducking the fight when all is said and done to those who don't hear about or understand the financial implications of why he is doing the movie.

Same. Looks like I didn't miss much.

He definitely had that cocky attitude in the first couple of episodes, though it seems to have mellowed as the season has worn on. At least with Rashad I get the impression he's genuinely trying to help his guys ... I don't get that same impression with Rampage. Maybe that's because Evans feels, deep down, like he has to give back a little bit, since the show is what made him as a fighter?

Rampage could be a stand-up comic, but he most certainly isn't cut out to be the coach on the show. It's too bad too, because I think with the right coaching some of the guys he's had could actually be something in the UFC. Maybe not first-tier guys, but solid nonetheless.

Best fight of the season has been Rampage versus the door.

I give Junk credit for not quitting, he looked good at the end of round 1. I think you could make a serious point that Meathead did nothing to win that fight though.

I'll be shocked if Marcus Jones wins next week.

junk was an enormous let down. bad cardio, even for this show. matt did little in the 2nd round, but neither did anything in the 2nd. he won the 1st. these guys gas quick. but i think that ****s funny as hell, when they got nothing left and trade blows totally gassed.

coaches need to act a little cooler though. they're the knuckle heads of the show. and meathead too, he came across as a major dick this episode.

im lookin forward to big baby's fight...but if he doesn't finish in the first 2 minutes, he'll gas out and be done too.
