We are not a better team w/o Pennington but an evolving team, in it's second year of Reconstruction, with Henne. We may be the better team for allowing the chance to start Henne now, by the end of this season we will definitely know the status of our future QB & be able to develop the Franchise accordingly. It may begin in the trenches, but nobody goes to the SuperBowl without a Franchise QB. in 2010 we will contend
Well, I know it wasn't me because I'd never accuse you of using logic in the first place... In the words of the Tuna You are what your record says you are, we were 11-5, that is what we were to argue anything else is a tad silly.
Trent Dilfer was a franchise QB? What about Brad Johnson? You don't have to have a franchise QB to win the Superbowl, much less get to one. Posted via Mobile Device
We were an 11-5 team that was brutally bounced from the playoffs, when the dust settled and everyone asked why, the answer was plain and simple. Even though we made it to the playoffs, we weren't able to hold our own because we just weren't good enough. We took advantage of an easy schedule and were exposed for the team that we were. I don't think we were as good as the Ravens, they had a much tougher schedule than we did, yet both teams finished 11-5. Had the strength of schedule been switched, the Ravens more than likely would have had a better record and we would have been complaining about missing the playoffs and which player we were going to pick in the early teens of the draft. The same can be said for the 1-15 team, had we not suffered so many injuries we would have won more games. That team had more talent than the record indicated, that's why last year's bounce back really wasn't that surprising and why I don't give Pennington as much credit for it as others do. More talent due to fewer injuries + easier schedule = better, yet misleading record. Again, if you want to use absolutes, Pennington had 2 INT's, 6 sacks and a 76.0 rating this year. If you are what your record (or stats) say you are..... Also keep in mind the type of thing people here say to Jets fans... "sure you guys are 3-1, but who did you play? The Texans? The Titans? They suck! We had to play 3 really good teams (Indy, Atl, SD), just wait until your schedule gets tougher and then you'll see what type of team you really are". Somehow that logic works to point out that other teams aren't very good, yet it's blasphemy to use the same logic to describe our team?
Jets week always makes Dolphins fans a bit more...rabid? And CP was all of those things so far this year, I had mentioned early in this thread what I had seen him doing poorly as compared to last season, but the bottom line still is...1-3. AS for myself, I find it difficult to say 1-15 is not...1-15...or 11-5 is not 11-5.
