Turner stayed behind after practice and caught passes from the JUGS machine along with Anthony Fasano.

HC Sparano mentioned PT having a great week of practice along with being able to play on Special Teams, at least two of the 4 units, and it would make sense to see what Turner can do when the bright lights and the pressure of a nationally televised game is brought to bare on him.

I'd like to see what he can do for us, our Wr corps has been pedestrian at best and Turner offers a large target who can be a factor in the endzone.

Good point, I think Turner should see the field just to see what he "is", catching balls from the JUGS machine doesn't say a thing.

If they play him, for the love of God, please use some slant and post routes. It's his game IMO. It's what he does best, as well as work the come back routes on the sideline.

If nothing else it would be trying something different. The Passing game has gone stale, now is as good of a time as any to shake things up a bit.

we might as well activate Nalbone as well, assuming he's figured out what team he plays on.

I think Slants are risky risky against this defense, a zone blitz and we see a Int.

I'd let Bess and Greg C work the middle and Ginn do his usual coverage run off, Turner is a redzone option and Hartline is the WC, and really sort of a key to the game for us.

    Mr. RedZone

has to make his bones sooner of later
Turner has been lost in the shuffle so far. can only suit up four WR's:
Camarillo, Bess, GinnJr. & Hartline, so Turner sits
there are no easy games on the schedule,
he needs playing time to develop & be evaluated properly

so who sits? won't be Hartline, Camarillo or Bess. GinnJr? or do we carry five? doubt it.
Turner better make the best of his opportunities when they come his way. we shall see.

    Monday Night?

lol........what could it hurt? Hell the other two are just being activated by default anyway. Fasano is our best and he's playing like a third stringer. The way his play has dropped off is a mystery. And disappointing, was hoping he would build on last year.

Bess isn't involved because the way we are playing our passing game. Our passing game in general has been rather timid. Out routes, curls, and screens....

Thinking Turner will have much of an impact Monday night is wishful thinking, nothing more... nothing less.

The zone blitz all really depends on who they have dropping on the play. If they have their DE or OLB do some spot dropping in a short zone then yes, I would agree. If they have the SLB pass rush whilst the ends hold up blocks and they send a blitz over the middle with the nose dropping down the middle of the field, then I think you can have a quick slant involved in the pass game.

Either way, this seems to be a moot point because there's a good of a chance of Henning calling for a slant in the game as me becoming a billionaire. Also, I don't see the Jets dropping overly heavy Kris Jenkins into coverage. Ryan did it with Ngata but Ngata's agility is off the charts.

The Saints got Henne for a pick in the redzone in the preseason on a zone blitz.

Henning can be unpredictable, who would have thought that we would start the Bills game with Henne spraying the ball all over the place?

This is one of the downsides to a young team, no one, not even the coaches, know what they are going to do and what they can do, Henne may hit Turner on a deep post in the first half for all we know.

The Buccaneers did. They don't have overly heavy nose tackles however, they have quick tackles that can make some plays on their feet. I doubt we see Kris Jenkins dropping.

True. I've just come to not expect it because Henning's been here two years and I think the only slant I saw was the one in which Henne audibled to in the red zone against the Chargers.

ginn played alright against the ravens other than the failed handoff from penny on the end around. they'll throw to ginn and we'll hold our breath cause revis will be near. bess had his moments. the most effective plays were to the backs which were there all day long. want to see if the jets leave our backs alone again. if so we should just throw to ronnie and patrick all day long

Once Henne gets a little more comfy out there, i feel our passing game will open up some. Until then it's heavy, heavy doses of R&R.

I just love the fact that these two players have are investing xtra time after practice to improve there games. You would think other receivers on this team who have had problems catching the ball would join them for some xtra practice...

Bess is our leading Wr Sick, it is not really possible to throw him the ball more than he is already getting the thing.

We need a Wr who can make something out of nothing, Greg C and Bess are good Wr who will get open in the short and middle range game, but things have to be perfect for them, we need someone like Turner or maybe Hartline who can make a play and get wiiiidddeee open.

To me, Ginn can get wiiidddee open, but his lack of polish means he just is not that great of a target for Henne.

we need to get both Turner and Clemons on the field .... but doubt that will happen this week, since we have the bye right after ....

for Turner, who's spot does he take ... a STer, but who ... Clemons and Roth are much easier to swap out ...

I'd be happy to deactivate Ginn and give Hartline and Turner a shot. Ginn has been inconsistent and I'd be happy to give the young guys a shot.

I think we kind of need Ginn out there. He's our best homerun threat, isn't he?
If nothing else having him on the field and knowing that Henne has the arm to hit him in stride ought to help keep defenses honest.

    Well away from here
The slant may or may not work dependent on where the safeties are lined up, or coverage areas.

Ryan is more of an overload guy to begin with. The idea is to find David Harris underneath - he is a target in coverage.

Ryan will probably blitz more from the secondary than his backers. There will be a safety on just about any overload blitz, and you can get a bit of a read from the inside linebackers if you pay attention. We need to shift formations to see if the backers flop, or if they check. There are ways to beat the defense.
