    If we are to find out what we truly have in Henne then he must be given a real chance to show it and should only be pulled if hurt. If this FO/staff treat him as the former did JB then the guy will never have a real chance to prove himself. We will then be right back to where we were in 2007 and last year will have ended up being a wasted year!

    He is bound to have a bad game or two and the last thing we need is another knee jerk response to it!!:yes:

    The minute Penny went down my thought process changed from winning it all to hoping to see real progress out of Henne from game to game. IMHO that can only be judged by letting him play through it all; good and bad!!:lol:

    Go get'em Chad!!:up::up:

    well I'm frankly pleased by the overwhelming response and answer of "rest of the season." That is clearly the way I would go if I'm the coach. I think Chad is ready for this even though the plan may have been not to start him until 2010, Sparano did say he wanted to find ways to get Chad into the game this year. We need to find out if Henne is the guy or not and with a healthy cast around him, Chad has the best opportunity to succeed given our current roster of course. Something that the previous young quarterback named John Beck did not have.

    There are several underlying factors as to why he needs to be starting for the rest of the season. Former second round pick being the most obvious. You don't invest a second round pick in a quarterback and then only give him a limited amount of time to prove himself.

    I'm happy to see that most of us are willing to be patient with Henne this year and won't have a quick hook if he should struggle.

    over there
    Well I voted that he will start at least 5 games.
    If he doesn't do well they will give Thigpen the opportunity to see what he brings to the table for next year.
    No matter how anyone looks at it,there is going to be a QB controversy next year.
    Penny won't be back next year.That's why they didn't re-up his contract .They weren't sure if he would get hurt this year either that's why they didn't do it.
    Someone needs to take the lead and go with it.For now it will be Henne.

    NOW...,If they can start getting any kind of resemblance to a verticle(over the middle,in between the safety and LB) passing game with Henne in there this weekend,I will be a happy Dolphin fan.:up:
    We have been missing that kind of play calling for a long time.

    I say 5 games... Obviously I hope he's the next great Dolphins QB, but who knows what he'll do. I can't imagine him being worse than Pennington in our checkdown style offense...

    And I really like Thigpen and want to see him. I think he's the real diamond in the rough.

    Too many intangibles to say for certain, but has been mentioned by the coaching staffan and reflected in this thread, it is truely Henne's job to keep.....or not.

    I think unless he is really terrible, they will indeed let him play out the season. Thigpen might make an appearance here and there.
