Wilford is different in that he had actually produced in the NFL before coming to Miami. For whatever reason, be it work ethic, ability, or whatever, Ernest Wilford underperformed. Will Billingsley did not. With the trifecta drafting Davis and Smith, I'd say that Billingsley's chances at the final 53 were damn near non-existent.

Again... Allen is a bad example. We've invested a lot more in Jason Allen than we ever did in Billingsley. Allen's immaturity and lack of production is far below what I would have expected in a 1st-round draft pick. The only real comparison between Allen and Billingsley is that they are both CBs.

You wanna have a go at Allen or Wilford? Be my guest. They are open season. However, mocking a CB who never really had a chance to begin with uncalled for... IMHO.

Human beings are human beings. Potential, talent, amount invested in, are all moot if youre going to be pointing fingers at posters who you percieve are celebrating their job being lost. Whether its Will Billingsley or Jason Allen/Ernest Wilford, there is no difference. It'd be all the same isnt it?

And I think we can officially rename this thread "The Will Billingsley Controversy"

    I say 'class up'.

I'm one of two people that created this board. I know better than anyone the standard we intended for this place. That ain't it.

I won't apologize for upholding it. Misdirection doesn't work.

So, getting back on topic, do we know yet what the actual roster is at this point?

    Nevermind, from Omar:

OmarKellyDolphins have cut DE Ryan Baker, CB Will Billingsley, LB J.D. Folsom, OT Nate Garner, G/C Mark Lewis, WR James Robinson to make the 53.

I think the Coach said it best...
"It's a very tough day, it really is," said Sparano, who is only in his second season as an NFL head coach. "It's a tough day when you have somebody that has worked as hard as these players have worked and you have to tell him that he can't be part of what you're doing and there's a lot of sensitivity there. So I certainly appreciate everything that they've done for us and just wish them luck, so it's a hard deal."...

Brother you owe no one an apology. You called it as you saw it. If certain people can't be classy, perhaps this isn't the place for them. I totally agree and support you.:hi5:

Green and his family are friends of ours (my family).

While I agree that he wasn't a good fit and needed to go, they're good people. His mother is a wonderful and generous soul.

Anyway, interesting we kept four TE's. Was wondering whether they'd essentially cut ties with Nalbone, since he'd surely be claimed elsewhere.

[Edited to correct a misreading on my part]

Just my own opinion, but I really like that they kept Haynos. If he can continue to develop, we'll have a great matchup advantage having a 6'8, 270# TE.
Kind of like what we have with Sean Smith at CB.

For whatever reason Jason Allen has one real good game every year and then the rest are pretty bad. So for one game this year he'll get a pick or two and make some nice hits.
