I don't think it is drugs. If it was, we'd hear about it already. It could be that he needed time off to recuperate, like for an injury or something. And CM Punk has been ragging on Jeff Hardy's drug issues since he turned heel.

read that Hardy planned to take time off, and they swerved everybody with the title switch to him recently.

he is going to be playing some dates with his band, and exploring other interests for a bit, sorta like Jericho did, then come back.

his body could use the break, i am sure.

Any time he plays a heel he usually talks up how he's better than other folks ... I have some of his stuff from ROH where he did it before wrestling Samoa Joe.

And shouldn't you be 13th warrior? I mean it was a Spanish dude playing a Viking. Just sayin ...

OVW and ROH. When he's a face, he's basically playing himself (Straight Edge, but indifferent about other people's drinking/drug habits). When he's a heel... well, just like you said.

Ok can we seriously stop with women's matches now? That battle royal was 5 full minutes of blown spots and sloppy wrestling. It was extremely tough to watch. Especially the last couple of minutes with Gail Kim and Jillian. Just awful.

I can't wait to see what wacky Chavo/Midget match is coming up tonight!

It must suck for Gail Kim. She can actually wrestle. Oh I how I miss the days of Trish Stratus, Gail Kim (first stint), Jazz, and Lita. And Jacqueline. Can't forget Jacqueline.

Edit: Who won that match, btw?

Beth Phoenix and the few matches I've seen of Gail Kim since her return have been terrible. It's like she left her talent in TNA.

I saw the Dusty turn a mile away, but it was still well played and I laughed a few times during the backstage skits with DX. Seeing Arn Anderson scamper away was pretty funny to me.

I also didn't see the angsy coming from Cody after the RKO (which I did see coming), so that have me intrigued there. Although, Cody isn't helping his doucheyness quality with the nose stud he is sporting.

I enjoyed the U.S. title match and really hope that Swagger emerges as the top contender for Kofi. I think Swagger playing up his all american status and the fact that Kofi isn't one could really turn the heat up on him. Plus I think those two could have some quality matches to boot.

The Show-Henry match put me to sleep and I really hope Jerishow beat Henry/MVP and then start a fued with DX. I would have LOVED to see Edge/Jericho vs. DX, but this would due as well. HBK and Jericho obviously have their history but I would still pay to see them face each other and if it added a little bit more shine to the tag team titles, so be it.

And hopefully the Chavo/Hornswaggle thing is coming to a close soon. I would almost love to see a member of the Guerreros come out next week after Chavo loses in a showcase showdown and just slap some sense into Chavo until he realizes what is going on and he destroys swaggle. It won't happen, but it would be nice.

Also, I have to admit, I am curious as to where Bob Barker is going to go next week. More so for the trainwreck aspect I think.

I actually think Bob Barker might be a pretty good guest host, until of course Randy Orton beats him up continuing with the 'fun' tradition. The WWE just has to run a segment with Barker hitting on the Divas, right? And maybe have Santino play one of the Price is Right games or something.

I'm surprised Dusty Rhodes didn't punish Ted DiBiase, like when his dad was host and punished Cody Rhodes. It would have been a fun little rub. I'm not sure where the whole Orton/Cody thing can play out. I mean it's obvious Cody isn't ready for a main event push (or really even a push for the US title) so having him turn against Orton will probably just hurt his career, unless he gets a big non title win and goes right to ECW or Smackdown.

It's obvious the WWE is pushing a Cena/DX vs. Legacy Survivor Series elimination match up. Hopefully that will be the last time we have to see Legacy. I know I complain about them every week but really they all suck and RAW is just way too boring with them in control as top heels, and them not being able to draw hurts too.

Rey Mysterio might quit the WWE if he has to drop the IC belt tonight at Smackdown. He's claiming that the failed drug test wasn't fair and was for a legit injury and he had a prescription for it but the WWE didn't give him anytime to produce the doctor's note. Should be interesting to see what happens.

    Smackdown up date:

Rey dropped the IC title to John Morrison in a good match apparently. I'm glad Morrison got the title, hopefully they give him an extended run, as I really think he could be the next HBK.

Because of your comment, I actually watched Smackdown for the first time in I can't even remember. You're right it was a very good IC match, I wouldn't say it was one of the best IC matches I've seen but definitely one of the best this decade.

CM Punk cut a nice promo too at the beginning of the show.

I am well behind, but the opening segment with Bob Barker and the Price is Right Showcase was fantastic. His interaction with the wrestlers just seems to work and him calling Jericho a pouter and tellinghim he would have to take him over his knee just works.

Mainly because Barker is an older gentlemen so it works for him to say that, but man alive did I laugh out loud at least three times during that whole thing. Bob looks very old at this point as well, but he is as sharp as ever.

    Oh and IRS was fantastic.

When did Randy Orton turn into Damien Damento? Seriously was he on drugs last night? He kept twitching his neck and moving around all funny, especially with his head. He looked like a fool, are we suppose to believe he's 'hearing voices in his head' like his theme music says? Just dumb.

I will say Cody Rhodes promo wasn't terrible, of course he simply jobs to Cena 5 minutes later doesn't help much. Baby steps I guess.

The Jericho/MVP match was pretty good, it looked like Jericho got busted open the head way on his right eyebrow but you couldn't really tell because the cameras kept cutting away fast on close ups of Jerichos face, so it leads me to believe he did, since WWE is PG now and all. I really thought that when MVP went to do the whole 'Balling' move and Jericho wrapped him up in the Walls that should have been the end of the match.

The stuff with Bob Barker was good too. I'm extremely disappointed we didn't get Chavo/Midget match # 3921 though.

  29. Samphin

I have said it before, but Dusty's kid isn't bad on the mic. He has good timing and delivery. If he didn't have his daddy's lithp, he would be much better.

As for the Jericho/MVP match, I was thinking the same thing, however with them going into the PPV where pretty much no one believes that Jerishow will be beat, they are doing a good job of building them up as contenders. Of course, a couple of tag matches for Henry/MVP might work as well, but whatever.

The only real segment that annoyed me like no other was the Bodyslam challenge between Show and Henry. I think it would have been more effective to have Henry come out and do to Show, what Show did to Santino. Just walk up, slam Show and watch as Show is flabbergasted at how easy it was and the announcers go crazy. It would have done more for his strongest man character as well. Just my thought.

Fun night overall though. Barker was great and I can count a few times where the wrestlers wanted to laugh but maintained their composure.

Yeah you'd think having MVP/Henry tag more would give them some credibility going into the PPV. Wrestling in general really needs to get some new blood in the tag team division. I actually wouldn't be against having the Dudley Boys come back to the WWE, be a 'mystery team' and beat Jericho/Show and restarting the tag division, claiming they're the best ever and they're here to prove it etc. You'd think that the WWE would use their farm system to create new tag teams but for some reason around 2002 the WWE stopped trying. I blame Eric Bischoff, he started the killing of the tag division in WCW in the late 90s.

The Bodyslam segment annoyed me too but for the same reasons why contract signings, birthday/trophy celebrations, and Diva matches annoy me. Because they're never any good, just waste time and ultimately never really help anyone involved get over.

Cody is slowly starting to win me over a bit on the mike and in the ring. It's helping he's on the 'Triple H diet' and doesn't look like a high school wrestler. I'm still confused as to why they're holding back DiBiase.

  31. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

I'm a bit confused with the Dibiase thing as well. However, I think he is a beat behind Cody when it comes to talking on the mic. Nothing that can't be fixed, but Cody is the better of the two when it comes to that stuff. That may be why.

If Cody continues to improve, or lets say he becomes a babyface (he seems to have that gene), I could see an angle where Ted Dibiase and Randy kick him out of Legacy in favor for Ted's brother. A tag team of Dibiase's might do well for awhile.

As for tag teams, it has always been Vince's mindset that tag team should eventually dissolve into singles wrestlers. It happened with virtually every team to come to the WWE over the past 10 years. Hell, they even split up the Dudleys for awhile to try and make Bubba a singles star. I agree that it would be great to see teams come up more often from the ranks of the minors. Let them establish themselves and see if they can't breakout on their own eventually. It would give the youngsters a much needed safety net in working with someone, imo.

edit: and for the record, back when I was doing this, I used to LOVE working in a tag match. In many ways, it could be more fun than a singles match. I subscribe to the Raven theory in that, the more people involved in the creative process, the better. I mean that from a match building standpoint, not a creative/writing standpoint. The more people and styles you have in any given match, usually leads to much more clever spots and a general sense of craziness.

Granted you don't want that with every match because it will become watered down, but a good tag match or triple threat match or two on a card is usually a good thing.

It turns out, he IS taking time to heal from his injuries, including a neck injury, two herniated discs in his lower back, as well as suffering from Restless Leg Syndrome.

    [edit] Signs and symptoms
The sensations—and the need to move—may return immediately after ceasing movement or at a later time. RLS may start at any age, including early childhood, and is a progressive disease for a certain portion of those afflicted, although the symptoms have disappeared permanently in some sufferers[citation needed].

"An urge to move, usually due to uncomfortable sensations that occur primarily in the legs, but occasionally in the arms or elsewhere. "[citation needed]
The sensations are unusual and unlike other common sensations, and those with RLS have a hard time describing them. People use words such as: uncomfortable, "antsy", electrical, creeping, painful, itching, pins and needles, pulling, creepy-crawly, ants inside the legs, numbness, and many others. The sensation and the urge can occur in any body part; the most cited location is legs, followed by arms. Some people have little or no sensation, yet still have a strong urge to move.
"Motor restlessness, expressed as activity, that relieves the urge to move."[citation needed]
Movement will usually bring immediate relief; however, this relief will often be only temporary and partial. Walking is most common; however, doing stretches, yoga, biking, or other physical activity may relieve the symptoms. Continuous, fast up-and-down movements of the leg, is often done to keep the sensations at bay without having to walk. Sometimes a specific type of movement will help a person more than another.
"Worsening of symptoms by relaxation."[citation needed]
Any type of inactivity involving sitting or lying—reading a book, a plane ride, watching TV or a movie, or taking a nap can trigger the sensations and urge to move. This depends on several factors: the severity of the person’s RLS, the degree of restfulness, the duration of the inactivity, etc.
"Variability over the course of the day-night cycle, with symptoms worse in the evening and early in the night."[citation needed]
While some only experience RLS at bedtime and others experience it throughout the day and night, most sufferers experience the worst symptoms in the evening and the least in the morning.

    [edit] NIH criteria
In 2003, a National Institutes of Health (NIH) consensus panel modified their criteria to include the following:

an urge to move the limbs with or without sensations
    improvement with activity
    worsening at rest
worsening in the evening or night.[1]
RLS is either primary or secondary.

Primary RLS is considered idiopathic, or with no known cause. Primary RLS usually begins before approximately 40 to 45 years of age, and can even occur as early as the first year of life[citation needed]. In primary RLS, the onset is often slow. The RLS may disappear for months, or even years. It is often progressive and gets worse as the person ages. RLS in children is often misdiagnosed as growing pains.
Secondary RLS often has a sudden onset and may be daily from the very beginning. It often occurs after the age of 40, however it can occur earlier. It is most associated with specific medical conditions or the use of certain drugs (see below).

Good thing Jeff Hardy left the WWE, because after today he would have been fired:

    http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/116004/Jeff-Hardy-Arrested-On-Drug-Charges.htm

Jeff Hardy was arrested today after police found pills and steroids inside his house. The Moore County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant for his house in Cameron, North Carolina today and found 262 Vicodin pills, 180 Soma pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, and a residual amount of powder cocaine. The estimated street value of these drugs is $2,500.

Hardy was arrested on charges of "trafficking in controlled prescription pills" and possession of anabolic steroids. He is now facing felony charges of trafficking in opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

"His brother" posted his $125,000 bail.

Hopefully Hardy gets his life straighten out soon because unfortunately I'm not going to be shocked if I wake up and go to a wrestling site and see he died. Seriously don't these freakin' wrestlers ever learn?

Jeff Hardy's arrest doesn't surprise me one bit. He has had more chances throughout his career than just about anyone.

The last I read is that he could face a minimum of three years if convicted on one particular charge. I would imagine that he will plead down and probably do little to no jail time, but I would imagine that after this latest fiasco, Vince and Co. won't touch him with a ten foot pole for wuite awhile, if ever. McMahon is probably thanking his lucky stars that this happened two weeks after Jeff left the company. Otherwise the PR nightmare would be in full force.

Not watching the PPV tonight but good to see Jerishow continue on and dispose of the MVP/Henry psuedo team, as well as seeing Christian hang on to the ECW title. I think that tiel needs a strong champion with a longish reign in order to get ANY credibility on it. Regal is a good contender, but he shouldn't win it at this tage of his career.

As for Legacy beating DX, I think that is probably a good thing, but it makes me wonder what the endgame is. I imagine that DX will continue on with them for longer than I originally thought...? I was kind of hoping to see DX set their sites on Jerishow, which would be an interesting tag title matchup. As it stands now, I imagine that Legacy would be considered the number one contenders and they just lost to Jerishow so...
