vontae messed up on some plays and sean made some plays vontae 0 sean 1 when being interviewed: vontae sounds like a moron, sean sounds intelligent vontae 0 sean 2 Vontae has a lot of catching up to do. If the season started now, sean is our man! p.s. look for their interviews by following this link. http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/aquavision/aquavision.asp?category=1&mediaid=44323
I think people are overblowing (is that a word?) that first pre-season game. Vontae wasn't spectacular but he wasn't Eric Green-bad either. He had a few mental mistakes that are correctable. I'm not as high on Davis as I am on Sean Smith but I've always felt that way. However, Davis still can be a quality player. And are we insulting people by the way they talk too now?
Why? You feelin lucky? Huh,......are ya? You gotta problam with my edumacational indifferences or sumpin?
i don't know about we, but i am. if you don't care to judge him by the way he talks, you've still got to admit that sean smith has the edge right now based on performance. of course that can all change next week for all we know.
How eloquently he speaks has absolutely nothing to do with how talented a football player he is. So I would say judging him for the way he talks would be really nothing more than just being mean spirited. After all not everyone grows up in an environment that places a high value on trying to sound just like your English Teacher. All that said....Emmitt Smith, Deion Sanders, etc, etc????
Im getting really bored with the whole 'vontae-sean smith' situation. You would think Sean smith was an undrafted FA with the amount of fan support hes getting over Vontae. Everyone keeps looking at smith as if hes some diamond in the rough, but we took him in the SECOND round. Smith wasnt expected to be the best CB in the draft, but he was top 5. Its not THAT surprising that hes outperforming davis. in the end, their both dolphins.
actually liked what both of them said in their interviews. dont know how ones intelligent and the others a moron though. they sounded pretty similar to me
Well, you can't always tell intelligence via how he speaks. Besides, we're talking football smarts, not anything else. How he expresses himself has nothing to do with how well he can or can not play. For example, Ed Reed interviews terribly, but he can play... At any rate, you're absolutely right that Smith has the lead in this race so far. Smith has outshown Davis by quite a bit. I was extremely impressed with Smith. Davis made some errors, nearly all mental and those can be corrected. What you can't deny is his physical abilities. When he didn't make any mental errors, he played well. There is still time for Davis to show why he was drafted first, but either way, we have the makings of a pretty good CB tandem for the future...
hey ya outta leave the young thing alone, aint no sunshine when Vontae's gone... That has nothing to do with jack squat. Vontae has a Ronnie Brown personality. Let the man smile and knock peoples heads off. Corrected Score: Sean Smith 1 Vontae Davis 0 Paid for by the Adopt-a-Phin parents of Vontae Davis
I believe he scored a 34 on the Wunderlich. That's pretty good. I think his issue is lack of focus not lack of intelligence.
he scored a 33. he got 33 out of 50 questions right. In other words he scored a 66%. He was above average though. the average score is 20. But who cares. This has nothing to do with talent either. Marino scored a 16. A player can be very talented and not know what to do and look stupid in a game.
I didn't mention talent, you said he wasn't smart. But it seems that his intelligence is above average.
Lester Hayes had hard time speaking, and alot of people thought he wasnt very smart. That didin't effect his game too much.
