I think he saw your comment as disrespectful to Brock due to the disrespect he gets daily as a fighter. I don't think you meant it that way, all though knowing you.....
hey, im no brock hater. his success and pedigree is A-OK with me. but a weakness for brock would be getting punched in the head, and i dont think anyone in mma is better than silva. he is just so good at punching people in the face and destroying them.
I agree...but all he would have to do is absorb one and take him down...size difference is waaaay to great.
i think silva could bulk up to 210-220ish, and itd be only about 40-50 lbs. silvas a guy who can bend a leg in ungodly positions too, a real difficult guard to crack and pummel. not to mention up kicks that could kill you. itd make no sense to have silva go on and beat your hvy weight champ. thatd be bad business, but i think if they fought, theres a good chance silva could win.
what have you seen thus far in his career that shows being punched is a weakness of brocks? has his chin even been tested?
its physiological, he has a small cabeza and small chin, like cro-cop. despite the fact that not too many heads would fair well against the torque silva gets in his punches, and that preposterous, lightning fast precision. no pro right now places their shots like silva. thats a deadly skill.
Silva has already said that he does not like 205 because he struggles with the strength of the fighters. He would be destroyed by Brock. Silva is an amazing fighter but no way he could deal with the strength of Brock. Ground and pound would destroy him
it should. but we'll never know. strange things happen in this sport. we are talking about the guy who made a complete and total fool of the man who was the 205 champ this time last year. massacred and dominated him in a manner i've never quite seen. actually, the last 2 205ers he faced, he obliterated in embarrassing fashion. just sayin, ya never know when you're that good.
Might wana pump the breaks on that Griffin was badly hurt so that's why he ran out of the cage talk: http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=9333&zoneid=13 Seeeee, he's fine. He's just being a *****.
well I think I'd quit MMA after that performance. Joe Rogan said it best "I love Forrest Griffin but That was probably the most embarrassing knockout we have ever had."
O it def is a candidate. Silva just made him look ridiculous. lol Not that Forrest didn't help him with his ******ed strategy of just going right after him and trying to trade. Stupid.
Maybe Sick will calm down now about defending Forest. Most embarrassing thing I have ever seen from a fighter.
dude was knocked down what 2 times and still got back up. He had alot of heart for a guy getting dominated. Joe rogen should shutup.
He was dropping his hands and inviting Forrest to swing away so he could counterpunch the **** out of him, which he did. We all knew Silva is at his best when countering. Well, all of us except for Forrest knew that. Silva also spoke very highly of Forrest even after he ran out of the cage. He's always a class act with every opponent.
That's true. I think Rogen just thought it was embaressing bc the final punch was just a jab and it put Forrest on his *** badly. Obviously, he was really ****ed up before that punch. Silva dodging those punches looked like something straight out of the Matrix tho. Crazy.
meh for a guy probably on dream street already, not to mention moving forward and getting hit straight like that. I don't think forrest has anything to be embarassed about. Except him running out and not shaking silvas hand. I dont care much for rogen as it is, this kind of puts it over the top for me.
actually he got up 1 time first time he got up second time Silva helped him up third time eyes were rolled back into his skull. Sorry but to get knocked out when the guy doesn't even step into the punch is just bad.
ok dude, silva helped him up by giving him a hand. He still got up and continued the fight. He could of not taken the hand up and stayed on the floor. You are trying to split hairs. And if you think its bad because silva didn't step into the punch, then you need to watch it again. Silva didnt step into the punch but griffin sure as hell did. It was a good jab, that hit griffin pretty square. Again after griffin got up two seperate times.
Another solid WEC card last night. Bowles beating Torres was unexpected, but awesome, for me atleast. Bowles is a hell of a fighter.
Crazy weekend. Wow. I watched that card. Glad BJ beat Florian, can't say that i care for either fighter, but BJ is good at 155, and Florian at was talking waaaay to much ****. Now on to the Forrest/Silva. Wow. I think thats how we all felt. Even the most hardcore fans of Silva didin't see this thing coming. This was a great performance to silent the doubters, for at least a while. He made Forrest look silly. Generally speaking, Forrest was a great match up for him. A brawler, vs world class counter striker. Everybody SHOULD have seen this coming, but Forrest had a knack for winning fights he isn't supposed to. Nope. Style match up won, big time Overall, i still think GSP is p4p king, just due to the fact I have seen his all around game, and that he doesn't really care, to fight on the ground, or standing up. Silva is the best striker in the game, but GSP is the best rounded fighter. Of course, these are just thoughts and opinion, and until these two fight, we won't know :ok:
The fact is that Griffin had NO INJURIES, other than his pride. Some of Griffin's fans must've been making excuses for him... This from MMA Weekly: http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/templates/dailynews.asp?articleid=9333&zoneid=13 Like I said before, Griffin is a classless bastard. His running away after the fight was unprofessional, cowardly, and pathetic. Here's something else to think about. How many guys with REAL injuries have you seen stay in the cage until the official decision is rendered? Remember when Tim Sylvia had his arm snapped in half by Frank Mir? He stayed for the decision like a man. Griffin is a bum.
wtf! Torres lost?? i tired to find the fights at 9 and couldnt find anything, so i gave up and figured it mixed the dates up. damnit
yep...it was on last night. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTxhVWHqYpA"]YouTube - Miguel Torres vs Brian Bowles - WEC 42[/ame]
Shouldn't surprise anyone who's been a MMA fan long enough the way Forrest acted, he's done it multiple times in the past. I thought it was hilarious personally. Glad BJ won as well.
Yeh I agree. And also no one should be surprised Griffin went in swinging, the man is convinced he has a steel jaw.
was that ref ****ing serious?!?!?! he was out.....and he sat right there....and watched his limp body get punched in the face 2 or 3 more times....thats ****ing bull****
I really hope ur joking. Forest acted like a ***** and fought like one too. Thats embarising for a main event fighter. Rogan was right and i agree
how so? he got up after getting knocked down, not once but twice. sure he got dominated, but theres getting your *** whooped and fighting like a *****. I sure hope you would get up after getting knocked down twice Give me a break.
he got whipped. he didnt fight like a *****. and his emotions probably took over, and he had to get out of there. i cant think of a more emotional thing an athlete could do, then step in that ring and lay it all out on the line. i dont blame him for exiting or for feeling ashamed. why dont you stop for a millisecond and put yourself in an actual fighters shoes, rather than just yellin and throwin pop-corn at the tv. and rogan is being take out of context, he was doing color in an honest fashion, and it was simply a call on an KO for a fighter who was basically already out while still on his feet. he wasnt knockin forrest.
i meant his thick meat-neck provides his lil cranium some added stability. i still maintain, silva could pop a black-head on brocks lil chin with his accuracy, and put him to sleep, if the chips fell the right way. im not saying he could 10 fights out of 10, or even 2 out of 10. but it could happen.
u Maybe the fighting like a ***** was to far but every other fighter puts all on the line amd i dont see them run like that. Embarrasing. Forrest could have done alot better
