Warping to hell, then back again, while people speak latin as they're being dismembered...makes even less sense.
SCiFi saturday night films are pure Grade B camp, the "DinoGator" is a favorite. Hmm...so bad it was good: 1. Solaris...what a piece of steaming poo that one is. 2. Jaws 4 Michael Caine excused it with "but I bought the house" 3. Top Secret..Mel Brooks type effort but simply absurd 4. Blazing Saddles..Couldn't make that film now 5. Missing in Action..Chuck Norris in Vietnam...he never was in Vietnam 6. Uncommon Valor..someone won an Academy Award for this one 7. Dog Soldiers..Hoobastanky bad...but entertaing 8. Paint your wagon...Clint Eastwood in a musical..shock value good 9. Hellraiser..pick one...but pinhead is a great character 10. Too wong foo thanks for everything Julie Newmar...'nuff said... And Earth Girls are easy and Attack of the 200ft tall woman.
Well, technically it wasn't necessarily Hell. The experimental gravity drive the Event Horizon used basically "folded" space... So the two points, where the ship starts and where the ship ends, for a split second, are the same point... Problem is the drive also folded into another dimension, described as "pure chaos, pure evil." It's really quite simple. ...and the folks weren't speaking Latin as they were dismembered, they were speaking Latin as they were pulling their own eyes out.
you did not just say blazing saddles was "so bad" it was good. that movie is awesome through and through SOMEBODY HAS TO GO BACK AND GET A **** LOAD OF DIMES
I gotta go with 'Flash Gordon' and 'Megaforce' that were mentioned by Fin D earlier. Glorious cheesiness that I can remember watching many times in my early teens. Barry Bostwick was such a neon headband wearing non-badass in Megaforce.
