If David Adlridge's deal goes down (Haslem / James Jones for Boozer, while agreeing to send our TPE in a separate deal for C.J. Miles right after)... you heard it here first: Miles is going to perform in similar fashion to Trevor Ariza did last year for the Lakers. I don't understand why they're trying to include him in any Boozer deal.

Anyway, as soon as Millsap's offer sheet is matched the Boozer talks are going to heat way up.

    link?

also i'm skeptical because it's david aldridge. he said we were getting t-mac in a trade with toronto, right before he went to orlando, and we instead got eddie jones from charlotte. (not that i'm still bitter or anything . . .)

if i remember right it was mashburn and p.j. brown for antonio davis (or dale?) and t-mac. instead we got eddie and anthony mason.

I still dont understand why we are trying to bring in high profile PF's when we have Beasley on our roster.

I mean, I get it... but if you are going to do that, then trade Beasley for a position we could use. Having Beasley as a bench player again would blow my mind... :pity:

Either get Beasley on the floor... or get someone else for him who will be.

Beasley is going to play the 3 this year.

it is RILEY'S ORDERS too. Spoelstra likes him as a 4....Riley says his best position is going to be the 3.

If we bring in Boozer...expect a OVERHAUL of our defensive system.

The Heat has offered the MAX MLE to Lamar Odom. 34 mil for 5 years

it is a significant paycut from what the Lakers are offering.

    he is actually considering it.

    I am calling it now.

We pull the Boozer deal..without dropping James Jones or Cook...and ADD Odom...

    we are CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDERS.

    it would be:

    Chalmers
    Wade
    Beasley
    Boozer
    O'neal

    top Bench:
    Cook
    Odom
    Jones

that is one helluva team and a championship contender. it will rebound in droves...score in the paint at will....the formula for the larry Obrien trophy.

he just blew 10 million by messing around with us.

    hey...good for us then.

    100% if he hates money.

we did step up with the maximum offer though. But all he has to do is go back grovelling to the lakers and they can top our offer easily.

good news is that we don;t have that much competition outside of the lakers for him.

Bad news is that the lakers just have to put their offer back on the table to blow ours out of the water.

    A poor man's JR Smith.

he can flat out score on the wing.....very similar to Jamario Moon in total game...although he has a medium jumper that is more reliable.

he is up and coming and can blow up on the scene as a bonifide 6th man candidate.

His defense is mediocre...not a very good passer...doesn;t rebound at the 3 as well as a Moon or even Cook.

He is strictly a 2 in a normal lineup...as a 3 in a small lineup ...you lose ALOT of physicality.

if he comes here...I doubt he will ever see time at the 3.

good player if we get him as a throw in.

no. we offered Blount with Haslem to get the deal done and they said NO because they want Dorrell Wright.

the Blount I am talking about is Mark Blount. Our 8 million dollar waste of space.

to recap...the talks are at: Haslem and Wright MUST be included as per Utah.

the problem is in them asking for Cook OR Jones as well.

we DON'T want to include either.

we asked for Korver and were flat out turned down.

    that is what I know.

the talks are in wait and see mode. the Millsap deal must be done first.

Haslem to Utah, Boozer to Miami, Wright to Memphis...

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-odomboozer071509&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

........and some more Odom to Miami speculation.

I don't see where Odom fits in with Boozer and Beasley, but I do know that Dwyane Wade loves him as much as he loves sex parties, and he's probably Pat Riley's absolute favorite basketball player in the world... yes, even more than Dwyane Wade. Riley loves the guy, mostly because of how much of Magic he sees in him. I would not mind flipping Beasley for a deal centered around Thabeet and Gay if both of these scenarios lock in. We were offered #2 and Gay for Beasley and future draft picks on draft night. It'd make more sense now although if I'm Memphis there's no way I trade both players for Beasley. That's insane. On the flip side, Boozer and Lamar both have large injury histories, so keeping a guy like Beasley around would also make a ton of sense. I just don't see how on earth he's going to get minutes with both forward spots clogged. Boozer will play some center and I'm guessing with our horrid backup PG situation, Odom would run the point a bit like he did in his single season here.

But on a serious note, I see the Boozer deal going down but NOT Lamar Odom. Once Millsap is matched, Portland will throw the house at Odom, IMO.

    His sources = money.

The demands are that low? I am stunned that the Lakers don't jump all over that. Lamar Odom is more than worthy of ANY TYPE OF DEAL that pays less than $10 million per season.

Portland has about $9 million per season to offer. Just about right.

I don't mind seeing Dorell Wright go, but it'll be a little sad to see Udonis leave. He was so key in helping us win a Championship. That said, Carlos Boozer would be an excellent addition and I think Wade becomes more dangerous with him on the floor.

Im not sure how I feel about Lamar Odom. Part of me thinks he's over the hill and not worth the money, the other part of me feels like he'd be a great veteran presence to have on such a young team. Either of those guys should be a great mentor for Beasley though.

I guess the mid-level exception for Odom is a solid deal. This means Jermaine O'Neal is gone right, or no? I wonder what our cap looks like with JO, Wade, Boozer and Odom.

I realize no one else besides Blount and Jones make much, but just curious to know if we have room to make any other moves.

No way you land Odom imo.Odom just turned down a 3 year, 30 million dollar deal by the Lakers so he isn't taking 5 years, 34 million from the Heat.

    How funny is that?

"The plan, the plan, Wade just needs to be patient...The Plane.."

Err..wrong spoof on that last one, as I tried to explain to Mr. Sect, there was no way..-0-...none...the Heat would head into 2010 with the same players, all that "the plan" stuff is blather.

It's a The Future is Now world Sect, I hope those deals go through simply because D Wade deserves the help and if they don't hurt the Cap and Riley rides off into the sunset all the better.

The Odom/Wade/Butler/Grant team was my favorite Heat team I'd like to see Odom back in Miami.

    THIS IS "THE PLAN".

we are not trading anybody but expiring contracts.

We are not touching our nucleus AT ALL. THAT is what I was advocating from day one.

    Riley apparantly agrees with me.

if they keep at it...I like our chances.

BTW...we might be able to BIRD Lamar as well...and re-use the MLE next year.

    this gets better and better.

    Riley must do this.

can you imagine....we get contender good and STILL GO INTO the 2010 FA market?

the number available will be around 16 million AFTER we re-sign Boozer, and keep our team intact.

Really? Is this the same Sect who said if the Heat were going to make any moves they would have to part with Beasley?

Which were a cornerstone of "the plan to let those expire and sign two MAX free agents in 2010...err...:pointlol:

Well, you sort of went haywire on "who' the nucleus actually is, Cook was not nucleus he was "core"...

Here is the summary of my line of thought:

Which, "if" the Boozer deal goes through he will have partially accomplished..
