I guess why? would be my question. If he's going to be Deadpool again then why take on GL? I don't really think he fits that role anyways.
In the few movies I've seen him in he's always the same smart *** character with different abilities.
The speculation is that this will shelve the Deadpool project, if not kill it outright. It is a crime that Nathan Fillion was not given at least an opportunity at the role.
I don't have a problem with the casting. Just off appearance and past roles, Reynolds wasn't my first choice, but he has decent acting chops. It wouldn't surprise me to hear that he was really good in an audition.
Well, I won't be seeing this film even though I was looking forward to it. I can not tolerate Reynolds.
Exactly the guy I thought of as well. Fillion can be a smart ***, but also has the right amount of gravitas to play Hal Jordan. I'm not sure I can say the same for Reynolds.
Really? I love the guy. (no homo) I think Chris Pine would have been perfect for the role. Maybe Captain America instead?
i dont think there really needs to be a "Green Lantern" movie. this comic blockbuster trend in hollywood is in overkill mode. i thought it was brilliant TV when Entourage did Aquaman in the story-line. funny parallel with the industry. i wonder if they're actually gonna make it now, starring Greniere(sp). it wouldnt surprise me. green lanter? cmon, thats kind of a thin hero. if green lantern has a 70 million dollar opening weekend, color me shocked.
I know I'm an unabashed Whedonite but I think Fillion can definitely play a superhero. Though I'm not all that opposed to Reynolds. And with the successful movies he has out at the moment the studio probably saw a safer bet in Reynolds than other candidates.
