I wonder if this statement is being overblown. The reason is because it says he made it clear that the offense will revolve around Michael Turner. When the Falcons ran the ball last year, they often used two tight end sets and I think that's what he meant when he said Gonzalez will be used as a blocker. I think he'll still be the Gonzalez of old, meaning he's still going to get his catches. It'll go down a bit because Roddy White is opposite of him now and he's still the number one target but I think Gonzalez will get his catches and he'll get plenty.
He doesn't mean he is going to strictly block. You guys know that are are letting your dislike for what he did here color the picture a different color. He just means that they are going to continue pounding the ball, which means he will be blocking more often. That doesnt mean he is going to stay in and block on pass plays.
