Smackdown is improving. As a matter of fact, from what I heard, all of the Smackdown Matches at Extreme Rules were entertaining.

As for the bold part, I'm only going to drop one name to support your point: Paul London. That is all.

Flair is still out there working everything from WWE to autograph signings at Walmarts (i kid you not) for Pepsi or Coca Cola currently. i think the the main reason is he has two ex-wives (3 total) that he has to pay around 20 grand a month in alimony, from what i've read.

as for Vickie, that woman gets incredible heat. people freaking hate her character. it is not indifference either, she draws an emotional reaction. that's what a heel is all about. but she is very limited to the kind of stuff she has done with Edge, IMHO.

So I'm watching the Macho Madness DVD that came out today ... did anyone else pick it up?

I'm amazed at how awesome Savage was when he came on the scene. His first match he just has the crowd going ballistic.

Can't wait to get to the interview section.

I got it, haven't watched it yet, hoping to crack it open tonight or tomorrow. Savage really is pretty underrated then and plus now. The guy was way ahead of his time as he could not only talk on the mike but was great in the ring and had the look. He's no doubt a top 10 wrestler ever.

It's too bad there's no documentary on it like they did with Bret Hart, HBK, etc. But I guess its better than the WWE just burying the guy like they did with the Warrior on his DVD. Maybe when the WWE sees how much money they're going to make on this set, they'll put out a second DVD with one and hopefully he gets put in the WWE Hall of Fame, I mean it's mostly a joke but there's no way Koko B Ware should be in but not Savage, no matter how much Vince dislikes him.

I agree completely. I'm hoping for a second set as well. This one really focuses on his early WWF run, but his later stuff in WCW is pretty much non-existent. I was hoping for both of the DDP matches, as I thought that feud was a classic that put DDP into the main event picture.

Thus far it's very entertaining set (I only made it to Savage/Steamboat at WM III, which I figured was a good stopping point), and I'd agree the only real issue I have with it is a lack of career overview or documentary.

Savage should be in the HOF. Period.

There's enough Savage material for at least 2 more DVD sets if they wanted. Off the top of my head you can include any of his matches with DDP in WCW like you said, his match vs. Sting when he beat him for the World Title, WWF World Title match vs. The Warrior at Summer Slam '92, he had some good matches against Hogan, Flair and Luger in WCW. Tons of other matches early in his WWF career and like you said more WCW matches too.

Well, apparently, One Night Stand wasn't the only PPV to get a name change.

The Great American Bash is now known as The Bash.

    :pity:

I really wish they would have kept some of the cooler WCW PPV names like Superbrawl, Fall Brawl, Halloween Havoc, Great American Bash and especially Starcade. But of course with Vince, if he didn't think of it you can't use it. But seriously those names are so much cooler than One Night Only or Extreme Rules or Unforgiven, Bad Blood etc.

Japanese wrestling legend Mitsuhara Misawa, 46, died in the hospital after taking a back suplex in the ring, and never getting back up. the article doesn't really say if the move was botched, possibly causing his death. guess it's too soon to tell.

he was the second person to wear the hood as Tiger Mask, and wrestled under his own name since 1990. was pretty big in All Japan, and was a founder of Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan.

Well, One Night Stand wasn't a WWE name. It's an ECW name through and through.

As for Unforgiven.... I like the name. I just hate what they call it now.

Seriously, Night of Champions? Isn't that what Wrestlemania is for? Apparently not....

Which leads to me another tangent: Why, oh why, who WHY, would they have, in all honesty, what could of have been a very entertaining match (The Tag-Team Championship unification match), into a Pre-Show. You had two great Tag Teams in the Colon Brothers and Miz & Morrison, who, whenever they hit the ring against each other, put on an amazing match. But no, it's put on the backburner, resulting in only TWO great matches at Wrestlemania.

You didn't get the tag title match because the WWE HAD to put the Diva Battle Royal on the card! Seriously and no disrespect to the female wrestlers but I could care less about the Women's Title or women's wrestling in general mainly because they all suck.

As for the PPV names I was just using them as examples. I didn't mind Unforgiven. I really liked Backlash, especially as a PPV name after WM because usually the main event of Backlash was a rematch of the WM main event. I really hated No Way Out, Bad Blood, Cyber Sunday or Taboo Tuesday, any of the WWE/ECW PPV names, I didn't like Over The Edge before they retired it.

Terrible news about Misawa and one that hits close to home for me. :( RIP.

As for the PPV names, I agree, most are uninspired buzzwords at this point. To me, I still like the old four PPV's a year format. Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summser Slam, and Survivor Series.

I wish WWE would scale back on their PPV's as the new ones have cheapened the legacy of the long standing ones imo.

Even if they cut back to six (every other month) it would help these events turn into something special again. Keep the original four, and bring back Starrcade and Wargames. Do that, and I am a happy camper.

Loved Jericho's opening promo because it was 100% true. RAW has sucked ever since he left it.

Also is it just me or does it bother anyone else that heel champions almost always come to the ring first? I feel that champions no matter if they're faces or heels should always enter the ring last.

Christian is back and has been for a few months now. He's just stuck in the minor leagues... I mean ECW right now. He had a terrible redebut that no one saw. They should have pushed him as Jeff Hardy's attacker or challenged Edge right away.

Well yeah, that's what I meant. Get him back on the big stage. And agree with the rest.

Also, do they have to show the Orton - Batista replay every chance they get? I mean people watched RAW last week, if they saw it on Smackdown, they saw the replay at least twice and now again? Twice? One other complaint: Stop the commercials in the middle of the matches.

so much for my spoiler... lol

the surprise was lame IMHO. but who knows they might make something of it.

thought the Jericho Rey match was really good, the fnish was good and the psychology of the angle is good as well. and yep, his promo was spot on, too.

also liked how the CM Punk/Edge/ Hardy match played out.

Flair will probably be named GM next week. There's no way Trump will keep showing up on RAW each week. Something is going to happen.

I'm surprised they are doing a Triple H/Orton match on RAW so close to a PPV, especially since it's a Last Man Standing match. I smell a screwjob ending.

    They wanted to.

Problem was, as I learned not too long ago, the reasons a lot of storylines that would have been great have been flushed down the crapper is because once they reached something golden, it gets leaked, thus ruining any surprise the storline would have (would you believe that Chyna was actually slated to win the WWE Championship, at one poin?). While I still get question the writing of today's storylines, I can't blame a writer for having to do something else once their storyline gets leaked.

If true that storylines change because people find out via the internet is a mistake by the WWE, although I'm not sure that's the case because there have been other examples of storylines getting leaked in advance and the WWE sticking with it. Sure they want to surprise and shock people but outside of a major major storyline (i.e. Hogan being the 3rd member of the nWo) who cares if people know in advance? Everyone knew Jericho was coming to the WWE and his debut was amazingly awesome. Everyone knew Christian was coming back to the WWE and even if it was obvious he was Hardy's attacker it would have put him over and gotten him some heat instead of showing up on a tape C level show. The WWE blew it.

And I don't believe that Chyna was ever slated to win the World title as it would have tanked the company. Hell her winning the IC belt was a joke as it was. Who would she have beaten for the title? The Rock? Triple H? Austin? Undertaker? None of those guys would have laid down for her. And I honestly can't remember ever reading about rumors of her winning or coming close to winning it.

RAW has been terrible tonight. I appreciate them giving us a commerical free RAW but it's kind of awkward without them. Just a lot of stalling and dead time. I like it better with commericals surprisingly.

The Trump storyline is somehow even worse than the Invasion one. What a cop out. McMahon sells him RAW and buys it back the next week? Very lame. Did they even do any planning what so ever with it? I mean it was terrible.

And hey Triple H/Orton match ended with a screwy finish, who saw that coming?

One of these days, someone on Smackdown should shoot on Raw.

Oh, and from the "Who did not see this coming?" pile, Taz apparently joined TNA, will probably be wrestling again.

Jericho kinda did a few weeks ago. It would be a good angle though have Jericho blast RAW on Smackdown then show up on RAW in the middle of a meaningless match and grab the mike and talk during the match so the crowd and guys in the ring hear him.
