I'm sorry but some of the responses in here to Jackson's death are just disgusting. To trash someone not even a day after their death?

Michael Jackson is a person, just like the rest of us. I respect him as a musician and while he may not have made the best choices in life, he is human just like the rest of us. I don't know if the exact words "burn in hell" were used, but from many of you... that is what it sounds like you want happen.

I just find it unreal that a music icon is being remembered like this. I am a huge fan of Michael Jackson's music and I didn't change my tune because of his death. Hopefully some of you will see the the light and say nothing at all if you're going to trash his death or anyone's death for that matter.

Just classless. I'm sorry, but it's just classless...

Please do not compare this scumbag to Elvis.

People act like he got a few DUI's, instead of fondeling children.

But then again, Michael Vick is an a-hole for killing little doggies.

Once again humans showing that dogs matter more than humans and that is so god damn pathetic.

He was a massive influence, could well be one of the biggest in the history of music but that being said. I'm not the least bit sad that he died. Absolutely nothing to do with the allegations against him it has everything to do with the fact that he was no relation to me, no friend of mine. Better people than him die by the thousands every day. I've never understood people being so wrapped up by a celebrity that your emotions relate to them like a loved one.

For the record, just because he wasn't found guilty doesn't mean that he didn't do it - it just means a prosecutor couldn't close a case or he may have truly not done it but in either case the world will truly never know and if he did it or didn't do. His post musical legacy is that of a weird, plastic surgery obsessed recluse.

And this may be the most callous statement I'm going to make, but his legacy was formed in the 70's, 80's and 90's the Michael Jackson that died today was not the same man in any stretch that people admire from a musical perspective.

Not a single person in this thread has the right to judge Michael Jackson based on some garbage you've read in the media.

Respect the dead, or save your comments for another thread. Some of these comments are extremely disrespectful. This isn't the thread for it.

I have an undying passion of hatred for people who celebrate child molesters and then turn around and bash Michael Vick.

All Michael Jackson lovers BEST be a fan of Michael Vick and behind him 100% and think what happened to him was wrong.

    Or else, well, they're insane.

Elvis is on a completely......... LOWER level in terms of legacy.

I don't believe in judging a celebrity based on personal life. That's not what appeals to me as a fan. I will not judge one on something that hasn't been proven as fact. As an entertainer, M.J. is one of the greatest ever. Musically, he is the greatest. That's all that matters to me. That's all I judge him by.

Absolutely disgusted by some of the remarks in here. :pity:

Amazing how some of you know without a doubt he molested children!

Do some research. Look at everything the man did during his short, tormented life to HELP children. Do you honestly think he would harm one? Get realistic for a moment.

The man did have problems. He was basically a child himself. I don't for one minute believe he did any of what he was accused of. He was a mega-rich superstar who was ripe for being set up by greedy parents to cash in on alleged molestation.

His only mistake in my opinion was not fighting these charges. Instead, he took the advice of either his lawyers or his advisers and paid the parents off to try and clear his name.

And the media disgust me even more than the comments in here. They crucify the man while he's alive, now they mourn him. Blood sucking leeches who only see ratings. Sad...

The man led a horrible life. Money and fame aren't everything. He never had a normal childhood thanks to his overbearing father, he never had a normal life after that due to the mental damage that his father caused. He was hounded constantly and called a freak just for being different.

Now even in the grave he can't find peace from some of you.

    Pathetic.

Simply put... to come into a thread like this... one dedicated to honoring and celebrating the life of Michael Jackson... only to display nothing but disrespect... well, that's sad. Sad on your part. Pathetic, really.

I will definitely learn something from this thread, though. Raise my children right.

I don't agree with that. It's a FACT that Michael Jackson is a music icon, whether you like his music or not. You can't dispute that.

I have never gone out of my way to listen to a song by Elvis in my life. He'll never grace my iPod. I have no interest in ever listening to his music, but I will gladly call him a music icon. That's just fact.

I see what your saying and you're absolutely right that none of us know for sure.

But I think it's fair to assume that Jackson may have had no clue what he was doing. How could he know he was hurting a child when he dangled his own newborn son over a 10 story balcony with one arm? Everyone else gasped in horror and he stood there smiling.

Someone that far out of touch with reality probably doesn't have the tightest grip on right/wrong, IMO.

    Not what I was saying.

I didn't say he wasn't an Icon. My point was that if you're a huge fan of his, it would certainly seem fair to assume that you might be a little biased on the subject.

But the point is...THREE supposed "molested" children.

THREE sets of parents who can live with themselves allowing the man who allegedly molested them to walk free because he PAID them?

    Sorry...just doesn't add up.

This is America. We have ****ed up parents all over the place.

I really don't find it hard to believe that 3 parents used this logic (or lack there of):

"Well we really think he did this to our kid. But at the same time, maybe our kid wasn't really sure what happened and we might have trouble proving it. Lets just take this enormous amount of money and be set for life. It's not like we can undo what might of happened anyways."

    Right.
Seth was there when MJ was touching little boys.
Just liek during the radio show when he swore up and down that Henne will be a bust because he had bad numbers against good teams...wait, nvm, ck showed him that he had good numbers, and then he realised that he meant to say that uh, he will suck because he never beat ohio state, despite having good numbers, who cares about numbers, anyway? Or the time he swore up and down that he knows parcells and that he will leave after this year.

I am watching the stories of his life on AC 360. On reflection, the Jackson 5 was elementary/middle school, "Off the Wall," high school, and "Thriller" undergrad. I also just remembered a guy getting a date with me by having a DJ play PYT
I think, aside from the drama in the thread, there are so many aspects of pop culture that remind us of our own stages and life and mortality.

So Michael just somehow managed to find three kids that he knew he could pay off the parents?

Or is American society so screwed up that this is what parents in general have sunk to?

I know if I had a child and someone molested them, I'D be the one in jail because they'd be dead by my own hands.

Does what I posted in that first response really seem so impossible?

I really don't think it is at all.

If the parents and their lawyers weren't confident that they could get a conviction for whatever reason, why wouldn't they take the money?

We can say what we would do all day, but we aren't those parents.
