I question how a coach who has only been with the team for one year and who is getting way too much credit for the turnaround could possibly be leading the best player on the team?

I question how Ronnie Brown never made the Pro Bowl until Sparano brought in the Wildcat... :tongue2:

Without the Wildcat, Ronnie was average... Maybe slightly above average... :wink2:

I love Ronnie as a player, but Tony had more to do with the turnaround than Ronnie did, IMO.

...or to answer it another way, the same way Ginn won it last year: Hype.

...or to answer it yet another way, Tony represented the whole team, Ronnie represented one facet of the team.

    so true!!!

    :dolphin: :danceline:  :dolphin:

GREAT GAME! Sparano is the leader of the greatest football team ever, and created the greatest single season turn around (1-15 to 11-5) in NFL history. I'm so proud of this organization. (Edit: we all put up with the bumps and lumps over the yrs to feel good)

To all the Sparano supporters TY for the all the hard work and late nights. We picked a winner!

For the people that voted for Ronnie you voted with heart, and fought a great fight! :knucks:

But in the end we are all on the same team! :ffic: :hi5:

Special Thanks to MonstBlitz for bringing this game around again! Thank you for the hard work and extreme patience it took to moderate it! (Over 30k views and 5k posts Epic) :thanx:

Edit: now who will suprise us this yr so we can vote against the Mafia, and make him a winner in 2010 lol

Yeah, someone finally "finished him off", I could see why you would be happy about that. :pointlol:

Not really, it was all in how he was being utilized. When he was given the ball 20+ times a game during the 1-16 season he was lights out and one of the best players in the NFL during that stretch. The WC really had little to do with making Ronnie "better", all it did was mask the fact that our runblocking was average last year. :wink2:

Nah, the 1-16 team wasn't as bad as they appeared, they were primed to have a better season with everyone healthy and Sparano benefited from that.

congrats to sparano he is a great coach. Congrats to the people who voted for him and weren't opposed to Ronnie winning u know who u are. And to those who just couldn't handle Ronnie winning well see you later this year when he has rushed for over 1500 yards and made another pro bowl.

While i'll agree the team may have not been as bad as appeared, its hard to argue that they were primed for a 10 game swing.

It's hard to predict those type of outcomes and I'm not implying that they would have, but the '07 team was capable of winning more games than they did. That would have made last years turnaround seem less significant than it did coming off a 1-16 season.

If we had won 6 games in '07, would Miami Fans really be putting Sparano up on a pedestal the way that they have? I doubt it. Sparano is a good coach, he's a guy that expects nothing but the best from his players, but I think he's getting a little too much love for last season's record when contrasted against the previous year. :wink2:

I can appreciate that, Sparano is only one yr in, had a soft schedule, and expectations were low! But again he created a new attitude and identity and did a great job in 2008 so thats why he had my votes this yr in survivor! He brought respectabilty back to the organization. WHO WILL STEP UP THIS YR CANT WAIT TO FIND OUT!

Edit: by the way IMO i believe if Sparano was coach in 2007 we would have won 6 games and going from 6 wins to winning the division is pretty darn good. going from 1-15 to 11-5 was outstanding

Don't get me wrong, I love what Sparano brings to the team and his no nonsense "you better bust your *** on every play" attitude, but I'm not ready to call him a great HC.......yet. :wink2:

Well...it was fun while it lasted. Thanks to MonstBlitz for organizing and running the game. It was a cool way to pass some time this off-season.

Congrats to all the Sparano supporters. I don't have one thing bad to say about Coach Sparano. Just didn't think he should even be in this thing. Truth is I was mostly disappointed to see my boy Jake eliminated. So, I'm not nearly as devastated as some other to see Brown go down. Although, you could argue he is the best player on the team. Certainly offensively anyway. Let's just hope he puts up monster numbers/plays this season and forces the FO to resign him long term.

    G Man...out!

Yeah I don't think Sparano deserved it at all but hey it was fun.

I don't see what he in particular did to turn the team around. In fact I'd argue that on any team a great offensive/defense coordinator with an average coach is much better than a great head coach with average coordinators.

Also had it not been for our QB coach and the wildcat, Sparano probably would have won 5-7 games. Add on to the fact that a lot of coaches have a good first year and flame out. Oh well.

Yippee! Tony wins! I love it, much kudos and thanks to MonstaBlitz for getting this thing going. To the Ronnie voters, you fought the good fight, and next season, I hope to get to vote for Ronnie after he has a REAL Pro Bowl season and rushes/catches over 1,500+ yards. Ronnie has been, and still is, my favorite player on the team.

This year I just felt Tony was more responsible for the turnaround and got the credit he deserves.

    Great game everybody!

good job sparano voters... you held out and finished off Ronnie... this is 2 years straight where Ronnie was knocked out as the runner up... lets hope this year he gets more touches and gets more yards so you guys have no choice but to vote for him next year...

Love Sparano, love everyone on this team actually... but i still thought Ronnie is the definition of the Miami Dolphins Survivor... oh well, good ways to pass the time in the offseason, just a little over 1 month till training camp!
