Ok for everyone that states JT is old, skills have diminished and he isn't worth it anymore at age 33. Let's take a look at the real facts. NMichael Strahan is 36, he had 9 sacks last year with help around him. It isn't JT's fault that the rest of the team was so poor and injured. He is still a top DE/LB and would be an assest with the team when our rebuilding program. Take another step and look at the intangibles and history. BP has built teams that were terrible and made them competive within 2-3 years. At that time JT will be 35-36. The same age as Strahan; encompass this with better players being built around him and with him he could have at least close to the same sucess. Now on the other hand if we were to get TOP TOP value for him and he really wants to get a chance to go to the SB then retire then it makes sense to let him go. The reason I'm posting this is because of all of the people complaining about his skills and age. Compare against top 3 DE for the past season he had 47 Solo tackles and still 11 sacks. The top DL in the NFL Jared Allen who had 55 and 15.5 sacks and is only 28. Must note that Patrick Kearney is 33 as well and had 60 tackles and 14.5 sacks. Michael Strahan He is the same age as JT again with a stronger supporting cast and he is also 33. JT 2007 stats 47 tackles and 11 sacks
umm.. Are you sure? Isnt this something you would want to post in the Miami Dolphins Discussion rather than "Announcements"?
huh? What forum am I in exactly? Great post though! JT is far from done and will play at a very high level next season, hopefully for the Jags as I just feel it would be best for JT, for us, and for the Jags.
