I'd say be careful with this "he left 8.5 million to..." sort of stuff, Jason Taylor may want to play in Miami again, but he's not a Saint willing to take a 7 million dollar paycut just so he can hear "JT...JT...JT..." again.

I love the fact that he will not be able to avoid Sparano's Crucible this year, he will work harder then he has in years this offseason.

That said...JT will flourish this season./

this makes the Pat White pick even sweeter! we let JT go for a year, get a draft pick and use it on Pat White, then we get JT back! Brilliant!

Jason Taylor just announced that he will perform the Landshark Mamba during the Monday Night Football showdown vs. the Colts in week 2.
Stephen Ross confirmed that Jimmy Buffett will open the festivities at halftime with JT following.

The odds just got a whole lot better that Jason Taylor will retire a Dolphin. Yes I do believe his first and only choice was Miami or he would have signed with NE already and not waited 10 weeks.
I'll be glad to see that #99 out on the field again. Joey Porter and Jason Taylor putting pressure on from the outside may help those young defensive ends to get their game on.

the one thing that does concern me now is the Pats are going to do whatever it takes to trade for Julius Peppers from the Panthers.

I cannot WAIT to go to the home opener Monday Night against Indy. If JT gets introduced, or makes a big play, or gets a sack, the place will go nuts!

One year after we learned Zach just couldn't bring himself to signing with the Patriots, his brother in-law seconds the motion. After years and years and years of ex-players like Welker, Cox, Izzo, and Byars heading to hated division rivals the Dolphin organization has stopped the bleeding. And even won a division title last year by turning Jets trash into Dolphins treasure.

I've felt for a few years now that JT was among the classiest Dolphins to play in the modern era. The guy worked his tail off to get better and better every year until he won that Def POY award. Then came Cam Cam, a desire for a future after football, a re-building process he didn't want a part of, a trade to a place that loves veterans but never knows what to do with them, injuries, a forced release, and now a humbled homecoming.

The full page ad that JT took out last year upon being traded to Washington to thank us fans should have been all most of us needed to convince themselves of the kind of character JT has. Refusing higher pay from our hated rival Patriots, one year after being sent packing, should be the nail in the coffin for all those who doubted JT. He is the rare athlete that appreciates the place that supported him for years. Even if JT ultimately was being more loyal to his family than he was to his fans, the motivation was loyalty. He's loyal, and I'm glad he's back home where he belongs.

I thank Dan Snyder for renting Jason Taylor for a year so we could get Pat White for free! hahahahahaha. Welcome back home JT!

Seriously. Dan Snyder should remove himself from making any football decision, period. How many of these moves have backfired on him since he bought the team? That trade has given a whole new meaning to Highway Robbery.

Ahhh I can just picture Thelma Brady's face when she heard the news, she was happy as hell that JT had left the division, but then he got hurt, now he should be healthy only to face his BFF twice on Sundays again.

    This is just awesome

    1) We rent JT out a year for a second and a 6th

    2) We go 11-5

    3) We draft Pat White

    4) We get a healthy JT ready to be used in the right way at a discount, plus the can teach the young guys a thing or two.

    5) Dan Snyder is a moron

Personally, it wasn't only the Dolphins that got better today, but the game itself.

    Good post.

I mean, sometimes we even pushed good players away. Jimmy forced Keith Byars' hand. He moved him to TE that year, intentionally snapped his consecutive games-with-a-catch streak, and then cut him.

Bryan Cox, that dude was super loyal to Don Shula. And Jimmy came in wiping his feet on the Shula name.

For years guys joined division rivals for one reason or another. Now they're choosing to come here. I'm a JT fan, even when he was trying to leave.

Great post bro. I was sorry to see him go and couldn't bring myself to place blame on him for last year's soap opera. It was probably, IMO, a minor incident that the media blew up into an epic BS story.

Absolutely right about Cox and Byars. JJ, being a college coach first and foremost, had serious problems dealing with veterans.

I like to think it is a testament to the modern Dolphin organization and players like Zach and Jason that despite those two guys being dumped by the team, they still felt a loyalty that previous players did not.
