I want someone intelligent. Sorry, but as much respect that I have for Pat, he doesn't seem like HC material even in a modest sense.

I agree, but there isn't another coach on the planet that allows a meltdown like that tonight.

Up 10 deep in the 4th on the road in a game that you completely dominated... unbelievable. Shoot the fans if we have to watch Boston without K.G. get torn to shreds by Cleveland.

I feel for you guys because you are the better team under the current circumstances (no KG / Powe & Nelson). We felt the same in the ECF back in 2005.

I ma so over the NBA and its Pro-Boston calls.

That ball hit rim... yeah right. The announcers said they couldn't tell, yet in 2 seconds it was enough for the refs to over turn the call.

And Allens 2-point shot they counted a 3-pointer.

    SCREW the NBA.

Here come the posts that claim that those types of calls don't matter, and they had nothing to do with Orlando losing their lead....in 3, 2, 1.....

    all im saying is.....

    1. it didnt hit the rim, nice job switching the call after the Celtics cry.

    2. way to finish the game 0 for 8 Orlando.

    3. Every time Dwight set the screen, the Celtics boxed him out to prevent the rebound/dunk.

    4. It's not over.

Actually it didn't have anything to do with Orlando losing a 10 point lead late into the 4th quarter. How could it?

But it did have something to do with the outcome of the game. Down 1 with 9 seconds to go vs. down 3 with 5 seconds.

Just like a Bullsh*t goaltending call didn't effect a 1 point game in game 4...

Remember guys these people that root for Boston, root for the Patriots they don't have common sense.

More like down 1 with 30+ seconds to go and our ball if that call isn't reversed.

    5. The refs want Boston to win. So the NBA gets the Cavs versus Celtics.

    7. Rondo flops like a soccer player.

I don't see how. We go to Orlando with a chip on our shoulder, and we were 5 minutes from having this game in our control the entire duration.

The magic should be comfortably favored in game 6 without a doubt.

this series should be over already with Orlando winning 4-1. I still think Orlando can pull it off. They've played well at Boston.

They dont have that player that can finish a game. Lewis was a no show in the 4th, Howard offensive game is about 0, Turk throws up shots. I just think they lack a player that can close the game no body is steping up big for them and thats hurting. They should have won this game but their poor 4th quarter performance in the last 2 games has cost them the series.

If they had a player like Brandon Roy this series would have been over.

The magic is a team with 4 jump shooters and 1 rebounding center thats their team a team like this cannot go far in the playoffs.

Game 6 should be a wild one but I expect Boston to dominate the 4th QT like they have been doing.

I love it. Dwight Howard went in on Van Gundy. Not even his superstar believes in him.

As soon as he started his post game presser with, "well, you know our coach has to realize that..." I was sold!

What dwight needs to do is go to van gundy and say give me the ball. 10 field goals and 3 free throws will not cut it. Lee and Pietrus played 30 minutes combined and jj played 29. I dont like that either. I would at least start lee over JJ. Redick is only shooting 36% from the field and lee's defense is far superior. It is a mistake if Van Gundy is only using Lee as a stopper on house.

I watched the game again to see what was happening. For the first half and most of the 3rd quarter the magic played this wonderful high-low motion half court offense. They either got Alston in the paint, an open 3, dwight with the ball low in the paint or dwight following on a rebound after his man tried to block the shot.

Then, for some reason I don't understand, Van Gundy calls this iso offense with Turkoglu at the top of the key. The floor is spread and its just Turk taking 1 footed runners on 4 defenders. Sure it goes in every once in a while but not enough people are getting the ball. Dwight took 2 shots in the 4th and touched the ball only 3 times. That is unbelievable. Rashard had 3 so those two players had 5 shots while Alston and Battie took a combined 7. Get Dwight the ball.

    So it happens again....

SVG has to be the only coach to get fired by two teams after winning 59 games with both.

He is just a terrible coach.

I will never get over that Game 7 loss on our home floor to the pissedons.

That game was given away by SVG. Just given away.

He gave that game away last night.

Simple coaching 101. Why not call another high pick and roll with Dwight and rafer since we all know that Rafer is a deadly shooter. ....LOL

    this is elementary stuff.

run the pick and rolls with Rashard and Rafer ...that way the CELTICS MIGHT switch ...YOU MORON!

of course...Stan Van Gundy is so smart that he is sure...I mean POSITIVE that if he ran another high pick and roll with Dwight...that Rondo will switch to Dwight and let Howard dunk him into the basket.

    Stan is just clueless.

The NBA has been known for many years to "manipulate" the games. I can't believe there is not a bigger outcry for the "fixed" calls. The media just let the obvious get brushed under the table because they like Stern. For anyone to just agree that 1 ref was fixing games alone is crazy.

The NBA knows the Celtics (defending Champs) -vs- Lebron would get more sponsors and viewers then the Magic would. The Magic could of done something about it by not shooting so poorly in the final 5 minutes.

The NBA went obvious in the Phoenix -vs- Spurs series a few years ago. They were all hyping the Spurs and made the Suns sit out a game because they said the Suns players "stepped on the floor". And they were going by the letter of the law. When the Spurs players did exactly the same thing the quarter before the letter of the law didn't become an issue. I find it funny the NBA or bed partner ESPN or TNT has never shown that footage after that same night.

There are already Kobe -vs- Lebron commercials. There is no stopping that matchup.

Just read the article on ESPN about Howard venting on Van Gundy's coaching last night. I hope Stan listens and doesn't bench him like the last time he complained about not getting the ball. Like Dwight said, he's a dominant player, let him be dominant.

i dont think its quite as simple as just deciding youre gonna get Dwight the ball. The Celtics have been really good at keeping that from happening. Even when Dwight gets the ball, he hasn't been able to back down Davis under the basket. Dwight gets into a scipt once he gets the ball. Dribble, dribble, hook shot. The Celtics have done a good job at getting their hands on the ball while Dwight is trying to dribble. At the same time, Davis attacks Dwight while he gathers for his hook shot, which forces Dwight further from the rim, leading to air balls. If Dwight cant draw consistent fouls in those situations, then they need to stop running that play.

The Magic points in the paint start with dribble penetration and smart decision making while driving to the board. When they get away from that and just try to force the ball to Dwight, they get stuck shooting fade away 3 pointers. It's not a huge mystery why Orlando struggles down the stretch. A lot of the problem is with Hedo. Granted when he is on fire, Hedo is a godsend. But when he struggles, he just looks like a guy who is overconfident and doesnt trust his teammates. Why isnt Courtney Lee getting more opportunities to hit that 20 foot jumper? Who knows? I hope they play inspired basketball tonight and Sunday from start to finish. I have no doubts that this team is capable of beating Boston back to back. Whether they clear their heads and actually do it, thats the million dollar question.

I was wondering the same thing about Lee. why was he not on the court more yesterday?

also, its not just about getting Dwight points, its about getting him touches. when we kick the ball inside, we get a ton more opprotunities elsewhere because they double and triple team dwight. go inside, and then kick it out, we wont need to take those fade away and contested threes so much. not going inside is ridiculous.

We got down a few points but tightened it back up to a one point difference for the half. Wouldn't be surprised if this game came down to the last shot.
