Despite Quinn Gray's signing, the Texans will not trade Sage Rosenfels for any less than a second-round pick, according to ESPN's John Clayton.

Considering the meager signing bonus they gave him, the Texans could conceivably cut Gray if they don't want to carry three QBs. They could also keep him as a cheap third-stringer. Signing with Houston was a risky move for Gray to say the least. Still, expect talks involving Rosenfels to heat up.

are you kidding me? Rosenfels for a 2nd rounder?!?!?!?! sure he's performed decently there... but a 2nd round pick now?!?! for a guy who will more than likely be your backup? i dont think so... maybe thats just me though, maybe im missing something here.

Thats the problem, it was our front office that missed something....again.

Sage came in and performed VERY well, and was instrumental in some very key wins for the Texans last year. Once again another team catches lightning in a bottle after we discard it.

At least if he's a backup, he's still on the team. We gave up second rounders for AJ Feely and Daunte Culpepper, and neither of them are even here any more. AJ's even back in Philly. It's like we just gave them a second for nothing!

Hes not worth a second imo. More of a third. That is bad for Gray though, should have never signed.

I never understood why we got rid of him, he's an extremely valuable backup. How many backups would you feel comfortable with if you're starter went down for 5 or 6 games? He's one of the best backups in the league. And really he's probably better than a few starters in the league. I'd much rather have him than Cleo Lemon or Trent Green-at this point in his career. A 2nd rounder might be a bit much but backup Qbs are very valuable, I wouldn't fault a team for trading a 3rd for him, maybe even the 2nd rounder if they're Qb was coming off an injury (San Diego?).
