Think we could be looking at another United vs Chelsea final. Really did'nt expect Aresnal to get blown away like that. Have a feeling Chelsea will do the business tonight against Barca.
Agreed. That back four has been troublesome all season. Silvestre making mental mistakes in the past and now Gibbs. They really need to shore it up and I think they have to acquire a veteran player. So many young guys. The attacking was also disappointing. One goal total. Eh.
That was worse than last nights card! at worse that could be a yellow - you could argue there was a tiny touch when they crossed
The ref missed a penalty right there! Chelsea should have had this buried by now - drogba too many touches and a penalty. This isn't the same Barcelona that has destroyed everything in its patch this season
Agreed. I think Chelsea has played tremendous defense against Barca when it comes to playing in the box. I think Barca has destroyed them on the wing however.
It may have been a different story if Henry was playing. Although this style of play isn't exactly new to Chelsea as Arsenal are very similar team (albeit young and small)
nooooo!! Chelsea were bar far the better team today (being a gooner that is hard to say!) but they didn not deserve that!
lol you supporting Barca by any chance Alen!?! The referee had a bad game and Chelsea deserved to go through but the players (particular Ballack) are behaving appalling now
I'm actually an Arsenal fan but they lost and Barca is my second favorite team. I hate Man U and Chelsea.
A fellow gooner!! nice! I'm with you on the United and Chelsea hate, though from a biased point of view I'd like to have seen an all Premier League final. Though they've got the "hollywood final" they wanted! I hope Henry gets a medal though!
Have to say the Chelsea players spoilt what was a fantastic match with there total lack of respect for the ref at the end of the game. I know they had a case for a hand-ball after Barca scored, but if it was'nt for Essien mi****ting and failing to clear the ball, they would have won the game.
Chelsea can't blame everything on the ref, they had oportunities to settle the game, of the 5 or so calls for a penaltie I'd say one, maybe two would have been jusitified but like you say, if Essien had cleared it properly they wouldn't have conceaded the goal. Drogba's and Ballack's behaviour at the end was a disgrace and in the premiership would have been red cards alone. Chelsea do have form for it though. I thought the match wasn't as good as the hype though. Hopefully the final will live up to what will be a huge hyperbowl!
I agree, not with the pics, but with the fact that the reffing was F'N terrible. How would you react? The biggest stage possible for a club and BS politics get in the way, fixing the match so that no two english teams reach the finals again!! F%%K I hate soccer for that reason!! For anyone who thinks Chelsea didn't get screwed, don't watch soccer anymore. All this coming from an Italian? Damn. The truth is the truth though. EDIT: Even though Ballack is one of my most hated players with C. Ronaldo, Pepe, Ibrahimo(who cares about the spelling), I have to empathize with him here.
I'm in the exact same boat. I never sympathize with the English teams, but damnn did they get screwed
I can't stand Chelsea and do sympathise with the fact that they were denied 1 maybe 2 decent shouts but their behaviour afterwards can only be accepted to a point. You can't chase after the officials and make gestures and allegations like that. Everyweek there are penalty appeals and bad refereeing decisions and until UEFA bring in some sort of assitance to the officials its not going to change. Also, the TV company can take some blame though, its they who stick a camera in the players faces immediately after a game, whilst the addrenalin is still pumping trying to get the reaction they did, it is they who highlight everything the players did and then go and criticise it for being a bad influence to kids.
Being a competitive person myself, I completely understand their actions. I just put myself in their shoes: In a men's league New Jersey game I get fired up like that at times. I can't imagine what I'd do if I just had the Champion's League final ripped away from me because of poor reffing. I might be locked up by now.
Don't get me wrong I would be first to complain, always was when I played but its the extent to which they went to, it's just that little bit too far. I sympathise a great deal with the way they were knocked out of the competition.
How would I act? Like a man, not like a 15 year old school-girl who did'nt have things go the way they wanted them to. You walk off the field gracious in defeat, no matter how difficult it is to take. Like I said before, if Essien clears the ball, then Barca do not score. Yet I do not see Drogba screaming at Essien. The ref was awful, but its not as if Chelsea have never had a decision go there way in the past. Somedays you get the luck others you dont. But Chelsea have a past of being very ungracious in defeat. Remember Anders Frisk?
Propbably a ploy to get Man City interested and then get a wage boost. Typical footballers and their agents nearing the end of the season. On the topic of Manchester - United are 1 down to Wigan and every scouser in the land is happy! (I hate United and Liverpool but want Man Utd to win title as I'm surrounded by Liverpool fans at work!)
Luckily theres no United fans but in an office of 8 theres 6 Liverool fans, thats an awful lot of smugness!! Change of subject to a decent team - just a heads up if you haven't heard but Arsenal's new away shirt looks like it will be blue - the club shop are hyping the release for 21st of May
Diego to Juve is reported to be a done deal by foxsoccer. Its an interesting move. I'm a fan of Diego's game. Also, I don't hate Liverpool but I don't like them, however I want to congratulate Steven Gerrard on winning footballer of the year. Well deserved. I like his game a lot.
http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/9577848/FIFA-warns-Bosnia,-Poland-over-fans'-hooliganism Crap! We're screwed. There's also a couple other rumors out there that say Adebayor may be on the way out of Arsenal, possibly to Chelsea which I have a hard time seeing happen, and that Arsenal is ready to throw money at Xabi Alonso.
Report: Madrid to sign Kaka if Perez wins http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/9580704/Report:-Madrid-to-sign-Kaka-if-Perez-wins Damn, I wish he wouldn't go there. Come to Arsenal. Andrei: Gunners need more like me I agree with Andrei. We need a veteran presence on the team and I think we have enough young guys to develop right now. If they want to add more, purchase some from Hollandia - I like their young talent - and sent them to the academy, not to the field. We need at least one more, maybe two players that can contribute immediately. Especially in the back four, lol.
Think Kaka could still end up on the wrong side of Manchester. Can see City going all out this summer to bring in the biggest names in football and if Real attempt to go after Kaka, City will not be long following into the race.
Was hoping United would slip up against Wigan or Aresnal as it would have meant they woul have played a strong side against Hull on Sunday. Sadly, did not happen
