Blame the Mor. He started it and then a week later, our parents divorced and were granted joint custody of all us children. Think of finhell like one of thos eparents re-marrying. You don't really care for the new stepdad/mom, but you know you have to tolerate them and talk to them on occasion out of respect for the real parents.
